I like this movie very much but unfortunately very cheap looking steelbook, no title on the front, on the back Douglas face looks like made in photoshop and this high price make that i will not buy this for sure. I will consider buying if the price drops by half.

Personally I think the artwork for this is done well - it has all the elements that represent the film thematically and all the best bits of artwork I've seen on DVD releases. Better than any other artwork I've seen for this I think.

Question is, should I upgrade from my (rubbish) DVD copy? BR.com review says the PQ on the amaray is awful, and I assume this (and Twelve Monkeys) will be the exact same discs? I am looking to upgrade Twelve Monkeys too and hear that's a little better than this, but in terms of steelbook design this is a little better.

No way I am buying this at £14.99 unless they've fixed the transfer...

Really like this movie yet never purchased on blu ray. If they drop the price they'll get a sale from me - wouldn't purchase at this price though just on principle.

I would imagine this will be the same disc as the original Blu-ray release. The PQ isn't great, only a very minor upgrade from the DVD. With David Fincher's great visuals it certainly deserves a better transfer.

So nice to go with my Criterion BD and laserdisc.

But abit high on price.
We will see. I love that cover and inside.
I wonder what disc will be inside?!

Let's see here... already have the Criterion, which I'm sure when all is said and done... will have superior PQ and art.. plus this one costs TWICE what I paid for my Criterion.

So should I downgrade for this one? And risk getting dented/scratched steelbooks from Zavvi? And reward Zavvi for putting out way too many low quality steelbooks?

I'll have to think about this one....

This pretty much hits the nail on the head.

There is no way I'm paying this price for a black cover and lousy disc.

0% chance of me ordering this in it's current form.

The thing I find with this movie is once you've seen it, there's no replay value... and the price doesn't reflect that at all.

Depends on how long it is since you last saw it, I caught this on TV a few weeks back & hadn't seen it since it came out in the cinema so I couldn't remember the plot, but I agree it's not one to watch regularly.

Love the artwork, It works with or without a title, we need more Steelbooks like this.

We all know it's not going to go live at £24.99. Why moan about Zavvi's price when you know that it will fall?

Yes. Most know this, but even Zavvi's "Pre-Save" price is very rarely this high. Even Thor and Capt Am were £19.99 at this stage, then £4 off made them £15.99.

There must have been a high priced agreement between Zavvi and the studio to be able to distribute these.

Sorry but no thanks on the unreasonably greedy gouge.

Well these are the first Zavvi exclusive Universal titles so who knows how much they'll be :dunno:

Man, I don't know about you guys but I'm getting pretty bored of all these black steelbooks. Makes for a very underwhelming shelf display.

You're right, too many black spines look pretty bland on the shelf. After awhile they all seem to look alike. Zavvi should start rethinking their designs.

I'm not so worried about the price coming down

I am worried about them crumbling away in my hands with all that matte black paint though!

Great choice of films but these 2 steels aren't for me

I'm fine with my Criterion release. It was only $17.99 and it included a nice booklet.

lol Zavvi and their cash-grabbing game.

Everybody go to my new poll in the feedback section.

Let's get the straight and skinny on this once and for all!

Do you prefer a TITLE or NO TITLE on steelbook covers?

You make it seem that once the studios see you poll they'll do as it says and always have the title on the front. :hilarious:

But I can't fault your enthusiasm and attempt to do make the studios do what you think is the right thing.

Personally I like the artwork but as of right now it's only a mockup so they can still mess it up by using cheap ass matte paint that chips if the wind blows a little to hard one day.
Already have the Criterion plus I'm kind of over steelbooks so I'll pass.
