Sometimes these aren't really paid listings. I think sometimes sellers would use another account to pretend to buy their own items in order to prop up the aftermarket prices, though there really isn't any way to verify this. :p
This one may as well be a legit sale.

I always thought that as well but don't they still have to pay fee's on that which would be $20 or so ? haven't sold on ebay in years not sure of the prices.

Yeah, there are fees; but what they can do is file a transaction cancellation request, and once both parties agree to cancel the transaction, the fees would be automatically refunded to the seller.

You have to be careful with doing this because if the seller requests a cancellation and the buyer agrees, the buyer can still file a claim with paypal if they have not been refunded from the seller.

Yeah, I know that. :)
I was just saying in the case that the seller and the buyer were the same person or was in cahoots to boost up the perceived market sale price of an item.

Sure, what I do is go through every single feedback and identify the same seller and buyer and if there is a pattern bingo:)

Hi, the fees are a 10 % of the value.

The thing that I know is that ebay fights against self bids with different users. If he actually did that and cancel the transaction pretty soon ebay will contact, telling him that they know what he did and that his store will be close not letting him open a new one anymore if he does that again.

Ebay is loosing money, and they are pretty tuff with that thing. They can track ip, and different information. And a lot of times are the users who tell ebay what other people are trying to do.

So I dont know what to think about this one.

The weird thing is that he put the same item again 388 $ and is not avalible anymore.

I have done that too, mate! Unusually, a nedflanders' items on ebay always ends up with much higher bids that other similar titles listed by other sellers. E.g. Knight n Day ironpack sold for GBP60 by some other seller, but much higher for nedflanders. I traced the feedback ratings of his items, and found 30-40 different bidders (presumably), so, end of my suspicion :>
