Gr8 pics as always from huggy bringing out the best in every steelbook placed under his camera and although not in the same league as the DJANGO UNCHAINED steelbook (IMO) it ain't half bad and it's starting to grow on me again.
Recently wasn't sure about the washed-out, hazy look of the front image but I suppose if they're in the middle of a snowstorm that's exactly how it should look . . .
Best bit for me of the SB ? The embossed silver eight.
Worst bits for me of the SB ? Print on the front apart from the title ("THE 8TH FILM . . . " bit) and not as much of the cabin showing when compared to on the original poster.
Regarding the TITLE: As reported, this was originally to have been a sequel to DJANGO UNCHAINED and was originally titled DJANGO IN WHITE HELL but QT felt there was no place for the Jamie Foxx character here as the audience would trust him and according to QT -
"All of a sudden it hit me that the only thing wrong with the story was the Django character. Here there should be no moral centre. I thought it should be a room of bad guys and you can't trust a word anybody says".
That being said, there are obvious similarities in that both are considered Westerns and both are set is similar time periods (DJANGO just before the American Civil War and HATEFUL just after).
(Haven't watched the film yet and don't wish to read too much about it until I have but wondering if this is related in any way to THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN

a k a THE STUPENDOUS SEVEN

with a remake due this Autumn with a bunch of mostly well-known actors including Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke reunited for the first time since TRAINING DAY

in 2001 or the upcoming THE NAUGHTY NINE

which I can't go into here).
