This looks awesome! I really wish it included the 3D disc. Anyone know of any exclusive versions of the 3D release?

Only 3D special editions I've seen are steelbooks. Beyond that, nothing yet.

My understanding is Walmart only has one art for the actual digibook. So to get three different lenticulars, we need to purchase three of the same digibook. I probably just get tge Thorin one since I have preordered the Bilbo and Gandalf steelbooks from France.

Actually, I just found this out so I thought I'd state this clearly. In order to get all 3 lenticular cards, and all 3 digibooks, you'll need to do the following.

1) Have 3 separate VUDU accounts.
2) Use the unique code for each lenticular card on each account
3) VUDU will then MAIL you the digibook to your home address

You cannot use more than 1 code per account and it's not Walmart that is mailing you the digi - it's VUDU.

So if you buy more than 1 card in store at Walmart and pay the total upfront, the only way you can get all your digis is to have multiple VUDU accounts.

Otherwise, you just paid $27 for a lenticular card.

It sucks, now Walmart/Vudu has three of my personal e-mails. I am sure they will send all the spams. Why can Walmart just let us pick up the pre-order at any of their stores which seems everywhere. There are three Walmart store around my house just 5 miles from each other.

I had just assumed it worked like a Best Buy free gift preorder, not knowing the details.

But they want to push the VUDU service and apparently this was their best idea.

I would love to get 3D artwork for as many characters as possible. I would get

Digibook with Thorin 3D card
Steelbook from KR/DE/FR with Gandalf 3D artwork
Bluray release from amazon.co.uk with the Bilbo & Gollum 3D artwork

That's a good question. It's available online to order but I wonder if the pre-order allocation is all each store will get. This is the strangest pre-order I have ever placed.

Yep, me too. Might take a while with UPS Mail Innovations tho.

^ only takes a couple of days. So far i have received Skyfall, Prometheus, and Life of Pi blu ray from vudu and they all took less then four days from the day of shipping notification.
