Are the "bookends" actually heavy enough to hold up books? Or are they only good for guarding a steelbook collection?

Not bumping of print run but different print runs for different countries:

Mexico - 3,000
Canada - 5,000
USA - 25,000

And yes, they are heavy enough to hold up average sized hardcover books.

So mexican has a standard blu ray, usa has standard blu ray with slipcover, french one has digipack and german one has lenticular steelbook....so seems by german mediamarket steelbook, buy the mexican edition and then try to get digipack of france from somewhere, you will have all variations.

Agree. Why bother spending so much time and effort designing something like this only to stick a standard slip case in. Should be steelbook, digibook or digipack at least to add some sense of quality!!
