'Hype' is common in anything to make more money. Best thing to do is go in and think the film is crap so when it is better than you thought you come out smiling :)

I did the same thing with Cabin in the Woods. Pleasant Surprise!

I got mine this morning as well! It came in there usual box and no sign of a Jiffy envelope anywhere thankfully! It arrived it perfect condition and IMO it looks marginally better than the FS I got recently :0)

Right I have all 3 versions of this steel in my hand right now. All 3 have there positives and negatives. So il give my view on them.

FS mocking jay steel: front is nice and colourful, but I think the mocking jay is to big and looks stretched. The back is boring. But the inside artwork is fantastic !!

FS district 12 steel: front looks fantastic with great embossing. Back is boring, inside artwork is nice but not as good as the FS mocking jay.

HMV steel. Front, is nice as I like the matte finish on it and the mocking jay seems a better size than the FS version. Back, is by far the best as it has the district 12 sign on fire, which is much better than a few words that on the back of both FS version. Inside, obviously terrible as no inside artwork, very disappointing.

Which version would I keep if I could only keep 1......

I'd go for the HMV version as it has both front and back art and a great finish and feel to it. Plus u can add your own inside artwork, so therefore it's my number 1.

Second I'd go for the FS district 12 version nice embossing and good inside artwork.

Leaving the FS mocking jay version last, as even tho the inside artwork is the best, it has the poorest front artwork.

This is Just my opinion guys, let me no what you think :)

as disappointing as it is to not have internal artwork, it still remains a really nice edition. after all, isn't the external artwork the most important element? for instance, the uk 'drive' steelbook and french 'the thing' steelbook are perfect examples of highly desirable editions with no internal artwork.

I've never seen this film but the trailer makes it look pretty good, is it worth a blind buy?

Ugly steelbook...i think alot people here are trying to justify their purchase of this item. Its too plain and cheap looking matte finish with no inside art. The Thing 2011 french version and HMV Drive cannot be compared to this as they are quality releases.

The outside isn't ugly, it's fine. A lot of people got this for £14 with the discount so not much to justify. The inside is bad, but what can you do.
