It's called paint stretching, and it's getting worse recently, It only started to show up when Scanavo began to re-gloss there steels after their machine stopped working at the beginning of last year. It's sometimes hit and miss to how bad it is, but tends to look worse on dark/black steelbooks.

My Crow steelbook has some of the worst scuff marks yet, and that is going back...

You're right, you have to look closely but there is a difference, I dont really like the new gloss being used. Sure, they look very nice but unless you handle them with special gloves they're bound to get scratched, and they get an unreasonable amount of finger prints. I have several of these and I'm extra careful with them, but they still seem to get hairline scratches, especially those with slipcovers. Like you I thought Scanavo simply decided to use a different type of paint but I noticed something peculiar. The paint used for the inside artwork of certain steelbooks appears to be the original glossy paint once used. I first noticed it on the Winter Soldier and Training Day glossy steelbooks. The inside artwork paint tends to have a smoother sheen that blends well with the metal and is not a finger print magnet. I may be wrong, but if they simply reversed the application of paint, it may just remedy the problem.

Got a minty mint copy in the mail late yesterday
I really like the embossing, but would have preferred a darker shinier paint job
Overall it's satisfactory and it's the 2nd best Incredibles collectible metal out there.

Looks like I'll be ending up with two copies of this... ordered to my home address instead of work by accident, so cancelled straight away & re-ordered for delivery to work.
But apparently they took so long to actually cancel it that they've been unable to as it's now awaiting dispatch...

That sucks (n)

It was £24.99 when I preordered it. Pricey for no 3D when I think about it. I should haven known better. Oh well.
As per the OP: "Note: As of 2:46pm EST on 12/13 we are told the 24.99 GBP price is an error caused by an IT issue that is being worked on at the moment. It has also been relayed that anyone that orders now will receive the 19.99 GBP price."

If I were you I'd contact them about getting a partial refund, because you were overcharged - as per their price promise, if the price drops before release that's what you have to pay (unlike Amazon etc. though, it's not automatic and you have to ask them for it).

Thanks for that
Although, I'm not too confident in Zavvi to rectify their own mistake.
