this was obviously done to appeal to the american market, which is a shame! And a lost opportunity to show of alot of the films iconography! This was the artwork on the laserdisc - be very happy with this on the steelbook.

The British Quad poster seems to be the most sought after for this film. The original one (not the re-release) had a backdrop of a map of Turin, as seen in the film. It then had stills from the film attached at various locations using map pins. I quite like it, but you could probably find better stills to use now that it's a well-known classic rather than a new release. I think a reworking of the map idea could be pretty good and leave lots of opportunity for embossing.
Same here, and for me it just doesn't represent what most of us imagine when we think of this film.
I'd want something like this, just clean and simple with embossing on the Mini's:

With this as inside artwork:

It has to be said, that lazerdisk artwork is awful...
Looking at that cover/poster it doesn't represent London or England or even the film. The guy in the chair who I guess is supposed to be Sir Michael Caine but he looks more like an american gangster with the obligatory tommy gunthis was obviously done to appeal to the american market, which is a shame! And a lost opportunity to show of alot of the films iconography!

To be totally honest, I agree, I think its a pretty bad poster.
watchin the the extras on my italian job and they said they where not very happy with that film poster as it confused people and didnt really represent the film very well.
I think it looks awful too. If it was the above artwork I would not buy it.
I am useless at trying to do stuff like this, but I'd like to see something like the following. Maybe someone with better skills could produce something a bit more professional. I know it uses the amaray art, but I think it would look great with an embossed title (I think that's the most we can hope for with Paramount):
Front, back and spine:
Inside art (shamelessly stolen from another post on here):
