I bought this steel out of the love of the film and not the print run. I don't really look at the print run because to me that's not that important. I can understand why it could be an issue. But shouldn't we be discussing the steel and not the print run? Anyway back on topic, I cannot wait to get this in my hand. My second favourite Disney film.

Yeah you are right lets make all steels 10K and price them at 20+ £ at the same time, makes sense..

I am not talking about buying and reselling here just talking about buying 1-2 xtras for trade or making sure one arrives mint. I would never be that stupid to only order 1 copy and risk getting a damaged one when its OOS lol..

ah fair enough- I can understand buying an extra copy due to the amount of defective steelbooks these days. I know a lot of people have quit collecting due to all the quality issues.

My favorite steelbook of all time is probably the HMV exclusive for 'The Green Hornet'...it's not limited or hard to find- I couldn't care less if they had made a million of them...that does not stop it from being my favorite.

I really wanted to get this, but I just can't justify it; especially being the bearbones release Disney UK have got going on. Priced above £20 is my cut of limit.

Shame, I love Disney films. I missed out on Aladdin much to my disappointment, and it now looks like I'll be missing out in Iron Man 3, Jungle Book and the Little Mermaid.

NEWSFLASH!!

SAV7JUN - £7 off orders over £70 works on The Jungle Book and The Little Mermaid.

And for those trying to maximize savings per order, the following combo is as good as it gets:

(1) £22.99 steelbook (Jungle Book, Little Mermaid)
(1) £17.49 steelbook (Place Beyond the Pines)
(2) £14.99 steelbook (Princess Bride, Planet of the Apes, etc...)

That comes to £70.46, barely qualifying for £7 off, dropping the total to £63.46, plus £.99 for a total of £64.45.

I decided to cancel the 2 that I had ordered.
To be honest I'll probably never get round to watching it again and at £23 each it's a bit too much with all the other steelbooks coming out this year

I agree with you on the price. I'll be cancelling too if it doesn't drop. I've only ever paid over 20 twice I think, and I won't be doing it again. If it doesn't drop I'll get the boring-ass Amaray instead, once it's on buy-one-get-one-free.
I think Zavvi are shooting themselves on the foot a bit with these prices lately. I know I've stopped buying so many.

whether this stays at this price or not, I am getting it...well worth the price and more in my opinion

Agreed. Maybe I won't watch it a thousand times but one day when I have a family I will want my childhood classics around. They just don't make them like they used to.

Well, that still didn't explain why it has to be an expensive steelbook. You can also keep your childhood classics in amaray around :naughty:

Got this message from Facebook:

I have spoken with one of my colleagues in the buying department.
He has informed me that we are expecting an order of 10,000 for each of these two titles. Once these have gone we will not be ordering any more.

10k print run? I never thought it would be that much. Disappointed the higher print run still has a higher price than Aladdin.

All excitement for this "limited edition" gone for me, on to Zavvi to cancel. Maybe pick 1 up a year from now at "cost" perfect and mint for sure on Ebay who knows..

the more demand the less limited these steelbooks will be, all new releases will never be as limited as before.

Even the re releases will have big print runs forget the old days with limited print runs, people moan they want more now they have it.

I don't really care for printrun, but what I hate that price. It's way to much, especially when it ain't even 3D or with a bonus disc or nothing. And it ain't even some limited special release either so why charge that ****ing much.
