Don't Zavvi pick up the postage costs if they've sent out a damaged item ? If not, that's really poor. Zavvi are at fault and there should be no additional to the customer, no matter where they live

embossing looks out of line, same as mine

Yup it is, but I can live with that since it's hard to notice (if you're not looking for it ). For the non-expert eye (my wife), it's part of the embossing.

If it would have had big defect such a slashed spine or else (Rob), I would have been much more mad since I only ordered 1x.

got mine, not dents nor scratches and i like it a lot, i prefer this one over the Aladdin one....i also just finished watching it, oh man the transfer its incredible, the clarity it's awesome...

Lots of steelbooks have misaligned embossing/debossing. That's why I'm not a fan of embossing or debossing unless it is done perfectly right.

It makes the steelbook look cheap when it is poorly aligned.

i know that, thats why its the first thing i check on my steelbooks, only happened to me once before on bourne trilogy steelbook and that was for someone else, got a replacement for jungle book embossing is in line this time and no spine slash so all is good

I find that many available to be highly improbable. But I will say... if it is true, then there is some seriously weird stuff going on.

This supposedly "sold out" at one time a while back (according to Zavvi's semi-hilarious method of stock calculation). That would mean that enough initial orders had come in that it used up the either the original print run or the increased print run. There have been a lot of conspiracy theories and I know that it was already disclosed that Zavvi increased the print run on TJB due to initial demand of orders, so I'm not gonna get into that here, but there is no way more than 5,000 copies were cancelled. That would be more than the entire Aladdin print run.

Even with the back being a bit uneventful, this is a really nice steelbook, certainly far nicer than many of the horribly crappy steels coming out of the USA with blank inside and low quality dull matte finish.

If there really are 5000+ copies of The Jungle Book sitting at Zavvi, I hope it sends a clear message to them about what happens when they play these games, especially with a title that was highly requested and should have been supremely desirable as one of Disney's top Diamond classics.

you'd think that anyone with some sense would stop at some point the moment metal slashes metal because you'd know that's the merchandise.

I would contact them. They'll probably offer to have you ship them back for a refund/return or offer you a partial monetary refund.
