it's a real curio. De Niro is excellent, but despite the title, it's a black comedy, with the emphasis on black, and the laughter more of the nervous type. his character is... let's say a one-off. and it's got Sandra Bernhard in it, a lot, which is probably why i have not re-watched it much. i haven't seen Joker yet, but from the trailer, like @Stygian says, i got the same vibe. and of course they both star De Niro, although in Joker he runs the show.
Have the standard amaray but this looks excellent. Very timely of course due to the connections to Joker.
