I pre-ordered the other version at amazon.de last week, that one has got the better front artwork but this one comes in gold casing which makes it tempting.

Think i'll stick with the one i've already ordered!

Germany has done this before, with Iron Sky, so I am sure they are testing the market-how many Steelbooks can a studio sell of the same movie...will someone buy another Steelbook of the same movie with a later release of the 2nd Steel, etc. Big market as far as collectors for Steels and other Limited Eds, so I am sure that's part of it, too. If the star was embossed that would be cool. I didn't see the movie though...
