This and monsters inc arrived safely despite both being shipped in those thin card envelopes with no padding whatsoever. I always get a bad feeling when I see those card mailers on my doormat when I know it's steelbooks in them but they survived. Both steelbooks are nice, both lenticular do are ok, but nothing special.

I wonder how much the print run on this is. I bet its around 10,000. There are many steelbooks zavvi touted as ultra low runs and now those are gone from the listings.

I love it when people say a number as fact and zavvi doesn't even declare it.
I love it when people speculate about print runs and just pluck random numbers from thin air.

Its a lot more accurate than what is written in the OP. Zavvi doesn't even state the number in their listing. Most of us are smart enough to know that zavvi is not honest in their numbers.

The steelbook looks really good. If this was a 3000 print run it would have been sold out long ago and never have come back in stock. In fact if you look at all the Disney Lenticulars they are all in stock besides Finding Nemo. I don't trust numbers when it comes to zavvi.

These are in-stock for exactly the same reasons as the following:

1. Captain America Civil War Novamedia
2. X-Men Apocalypse Manta
3. Suicide Squad Manta
4. Jungle Book.Novamedia
And many more premium limited run Steels which will remain in stock coming New Year.

1. Time of the year and not enough cash to burn.
2. Way too many releases.
3. People waiting for price drops.

Every retailer are going to.go OTT next year overwhelming and pissing off lots of collectors.

I agree way too many releases. What I don't agree on are anyone who claims 3000 print runs on these zavvi disney lenticular editions.

The steelbook will end up as a sold out release
To be a good seller it don't have to sell out extremely fast
It don't matter if it takes 3 months or 6 months or only a few weeks it still ends up sold out and result the same
A few weeks or 6 months is the same result a sold out release :p

The Print run is 3,000 it's in the release info you and everyone else got from zavvi
Zavvi sent you a pre order new release alert email on 15/10/2016 with this info

Customers pre order as payment is not taken in advance and you then get a lot of customers cancelling their orders a few weeks before release date and Zavvi also cancel large bulk orders just before debit cards are charged this stock is then made available again to order

Zavvi no longer list the print run on the website except for a few releases and is usually only the Universal/Sony/Paramount releasas if you not noticed it's been that way for months now that info is in the release alert email for majority Zavvi exclusives send to customers and some don't list any print run info

Finding Nemo will also come back in stock for the same reasons customer cancellations
Zavvi don't have a live stock control these customer cancellations will be added back to the system manually before or after release date

^ Listing of print run numbers for U.K. steelbooks is surely a good thing especially for the re-sellers as it's another choice titbit that can be added to the sales listing to help them sell their steelbooks - if the print run is listed by the sellers and questioned by the potential purchasers then the sellers can produce the relevant original Zavvi emails detailing the print run numbers.

Regarding the topic of individually numbering U.K. steelbooks: as you'll no doubt know numbering does not guarantee quick sales on all steelbooks and the numbered steelbook CITY OF GOD (released Dec. 2013) was available until very recently after many price reductions.
Individual numbering can also be problematic with higher numbers on steelbooks than the stated run amount (yes, there are reasons why this happens, but . . . still . . . if you buy an individually numbered steelbook with a 4,000 print run such as the more recent of the two METROPOLIS steelbooks then you don't expect to see the number 4199 on it).

IMO individual numbering should only be for expensive premium edition with slipcases and other goodies . . . and stickers should be on the shrinkwrap of all U.K. steelbooks along the lines of the old Entertainment Store or even HMV stickers detailing "LIMITED EDITION" and "ZAVVI (for example) EXCLUSIVE"

Its not stated in the listing as 3000 print run. They used to do that and then take it out of the listing later on.
Zavvi sent you an email telling you the print run is 3,000

It's not needed to be in the listings anyway when it's a standard print run of 4,000
3,000 it also not needed in the listings but Zavvi still sent the print run info in a email when pre order alert went out when it's 3,000 and when 4,000 it's not required to be in the email
Zavvi Disney only exclusives are 4,000 or less not more

Zavvi don't do large print runs with Disney Zavvi only exclusives anymore
After Disney did a second print run of Little Mermaid and Jungle Book
It was decided not to do that again and only do 4,000 or less and has been that way since

Zavvi WEA Disney and Marvel exclusives Steelbooks the print run has been 3,000/4,000 and some lesser titles 2,000

Most of the Zavvi Disney Classic WEA Steelbooks in past 2 years have been 3,000 to 4,000 and 4,000 for the Marvel Lenticular releases

Zavvi listings with or without print run info is not for re-sellers attention :p as technically per Zavvi terms and conditions items purchased are not for re-sale :p:rofl: but Zavvi don't act on this unless it's a large bulk purchase

Its never a problem for nova media, plain archive etc it seems numbering steels is only a problem if you are crooked

Are you suggesting Amazon/HMV/Zavvi/Zoom exclusive steelbook releases who are just retailers are crooked because their steelbook releases who are from Film Studio Distributors don't have numbering
Reminder Zavvi/Amazon/Hmv etc don't make steelbooks or design them that is done by the film Studio and distributor

There is a big difference between Nova/Plain//Kimchi/Blufans and UK standard retailers steelbooks releases
Do you see a Nova or Kimchi steelbook that's a standard release that's available from other Asian retailers as in same steelbook numbered no you don't even when it's limited to less than 4,000

Asian Full Slip or Lenti Slip that is numbered not the steelbook itself

Your confusing Asian releases Full Slips and Lenti Slips releases with standard UK retailers releases it's a totally different setup
