I don't think +1000 people cancelled their orders on such short notice. Something's not right...

People are never happy here, either theirs too many or not enough. I think Zavvi's are on a hiding to nothing with these steelbooks! If I was them I'd just do amray's! Then peopke wouldn't have anything to moan about.

dude you don't know what you're talking about. you are not running the stock at zavvi are you? do you manage the order database? do you see the cancellations? do you have an advanced system that can handle thousands of orders, calculate out all remaining stock and recirculate what's left, for dozens of steelbooks, all at the same time? you freak out about every steelbook in almost every thread you post in. i'm pretty sure Zavvi is not a cover up for the Russian CIA so please give the whole conspiracy paranoia a rest. discussing prices, artwork, print runs and all that is fine and all part of the game, but good grief man, ease up.

In case there is still someone who thinks that this steelbook is expensive, check this out: on amazon.de you can pre-order the amaray version od diamond edition for 27 EUR (!).
That makes this steelbook almost cheap

Exactly...if there is money to be had, you know Disney will sniff it out. I'm surprised Disney doesn't Steelbook all their releases, jack the price up to $40-$50, run a limited number, and so on.

Well if you think Disney are milking the cow, by the time we get to Dumbo for release it probably be a 20k qty

They actually admitted that to be the case, but in the beginning of the pre-order. they were overloaded with orders and increased the print run. that was before it "sold out". I think once the final print run was determined, it has remained. I don't know this for sure of course. It is what I would guess if I had to.

and, as far as we know, based on what zavvi posted on facebook if I remember correctly, they have claimed the print run on this and Jungle Book is 10K. Haven't heard otherwise since.
