No title on the spine again

This was the first thing that I noticed when I did my usual "spine slash" check. I know the stock photo clearly shows no spine title, but I assumed that it was an early mock-up which would be fixed for the final product. It wasn't.

I'm pretty annoyed at this, and it feels like a huge cock-up. Why would any designer deliberately choose to not include the film title on the spine? I can only guess that there was a manufacturing problem. They went to the effort of putting a little picture, so why not the film title?

Someone at Disney had the idea that if you remove the title from the spine you can just put the title in the language of the country that the title will be released in on the paper J-slip.

That way, all steelbooks will be the same and will be cheaper.

So I guess nobody at Disney had the clever idea of turning the J-card 90 degrees to cover the spine, so that they could add the title? Would seem the logical thing to do

Somebody at Disney got a great idea. If they don't put the title on the spine, people may buy this to put it on the shelf, discreetly, and not feel so embarrassed for having to display that they bought this turkey.

The artwork is great but the lack of a title anywhere on the Steelbook ruins it for me. I really hope that Disney see the error of their ways with Thor 2 and Frozen coming up shortly. I guess we can be glad that they aren't doing it on their catalogue releases at the moment, that is a plus.

Oh I'm not liking these title-less steelbooks. Wish at least the slip was super fancy and covered the spine like Taiwan releases and included the title on the spine. Sony uk did it for after earth but it's printed on such flimsy paper it's next to useless.

Got this today, really like the artwork, but again, the lack of title on the spine is annoying and looks like an unofficial release from the back of a van somewhere.
Avengers worked because there was enough characters to fill the spine, whereas here there's the two heroes and the rest is blank spine.

Disney, please don't mess up Thor 2!

I really want to watch this film and the steel looks good but i will wait for it to go down to about £16
