The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring (Blu-ray SteelBook) [Czech]

Does this pave the way for UK releases? I'm betting these won't be the extended editions but if they have similar artwork to the Best Buy versions with some inside art, it will be hard to say no.

I don't understand: are the EE's least favorite of the public? Ever since LOTR, movie companies will stack extra minutes of unfinished footage onto their releases when they get the chance, and advertise it as being Extended Cuts. Why is that never the case with LOTR?

No doubt they will come later on, I'm sure they are getting as many releases of this as they possibly can.

Probably printed text. They never show J-Cards as artwork to show a steelbook.

I didn't think Warner released anything with printed text anymore? If it is on a J-card, this could look great with some embossing/debossing. I guess it's unlikely though since Warner don't do it much at all. I'm sure these will get released elsewhere too, probably the UK.

I thought the problem was EIV still hold the publishing rights in the UK? And they don't seem to even know what a steel is - can't believe Dredd didn't get a steel release. You'd think they'd see they Hobbit steel and try and cash in.

I forgot that EIV owned the rights here, I'm sure they'll cotton on eventually like most studios have though.

I tried to find some contact details for them to see if they might reply to suggestions that they start putting out some steels but damn they are elusive - only a phone number. Might give it a try. They don't seem to be calling themselves EIV any more though - "Entertainment Film Distributors" which sounds a bit less like a 1980s video label.
