VRob - sounds like someone in the UK customs office by you wants to keep them steelbooks for themselves. Unbelievable...sorry man. I hope you are able to challenge them somehow. I would contact Tony at Kimchidvd to ask if he can help you by providing any kind of documentary proof of their legitimacy.

Whaaaat!? EEK! That's messed up. :( Sorry to hear that.

Yea it's a pain. And potentially disastrous for the importation of Korean steels into the UK in general if it's decided they're unlicensed copies. I'm arguing the case, and the UKBF (UK Border Force) have now sent the discs off to Warner Bros to determine if they are licensed editions for Korea or not. If not, then it follows that other Warner titles are also unlicensed and also subject to seizure on importation. No doubt the same with other studios' releases too.

I just hope that WB come through with the info that these are in fact legit editions, otherwise things are going to get very messy. :(

No chance I'll be ordering these after UK Customs impounded both my recent packages from Kimchidvd on the basis that the steelbooks (The Hobbit - also a Warner title) are unlicensed and therefore counterfeit copies! EEK!

If you paying heaps for customs or getting your copies stuck mate I can order for you, and send from here as a gift if you want. Not sure if customs fee are more expensive than shipping from here tho.

These are not going to have any slips if Hobbit is the indicator, right? Yet another Korean release to pass...

Sorry, Rob, to hear about your experience...

Damn...thats f_cked up. I agree and you should contact Tony and see if you can somehow get your order thru.

I thought of that mate but according to Parcelforce (EMS delivery agents in the UK), that will make no difference. It depends entirely whether the global distributor (in this case Warner) decides if the Korean edition is licensed or not.

Thanks buddy, I don't mind paying customs fees. I can accept that. Having the steelbooks seized as bootlegs is a whole other thing though!

I was thinking the samething. Have the copies sent to the US though and than ship them to the UK. I believe it's relatively cheap than paying up the arse thru customs.

If The Hobbit had a slip I would've jumped all over these but ill pass

I don't open them anyway so why so I need the extended versions I have my box set for that ;)

It's probably just a case of the UK Border Force employees being morons. They have to be legit otherwise they wouldn't been shut down ages ago surely?

You would think so. I asked Wreck for his thoughts on this, and while he conceded there was a possibility they're unlicensed he thought they probably would be. Lets hope the UKBF agree...

I really hope your right buddy as the ramifications for UK Ninjas who regularly buy from Kimchi doesn't bare thinking about...:(

Plus with T2 coming from KR I am nervous that they might be complete W****** and confiscate my copies...:ohno:

Fingers crossed rob that WB come through with good news for you and the rest of us importing KR Steels in the UK..;)

I'll let you know what happens mate. Hopefully it's just a case of UKBF being 'over-officious'. (That's the politest term I can think of for them.)

Sold out on Kimchi...

That surprises me. I'd thought these would be a large-ish run, seeing as the usual Korean ebay sellers seem to have plenty of copies. Maybe it's Kimchidvd playing it safe and not going heavy on stock of them?

Still to be listed on K2DVD anyway.

I was considering this, but I can't justify a triple dip. Owned the dvd, now the blu trilogy.. not going for the steels. Also.. It would cost me as much to buy just Fellowship as it did for the entire trilogy.
