I had a few of the other wave with the same problem. They were either printed too far near the top or too far near the bottom, meaning that part of the text was cut off. I sent them back for replacements

I never had this problem in the past with steelbooks, so it looks like a recent issue

Just received a copy of this and the spine is slightly misaligned - who did you ask for replacements and would they actually check if I asked Warner Bros customer service? I ask this because I don't think I can return this to WOWHD very easily as they sent it from Hong Kong! It's not that badly misaligned but I would like a replacement if I can get one...

I got mine replaced through Amazon, where I bought it from. You could always order a copy from Amazon, and then when it arrives send it back your copy to Amazon for a refund

I've not used WowHD for a few years, so I'm not sure how their returns policy works

EEK!

Are you seriously suggesting ripping-off the best online retailer because a collector was foolish enough to order from a retailer that it is known not to be Steelbook friendly? Despicable. No wonder Amazon are being forced to scrap SuperSaver delivery on some items :(

Maybe if they paid their taxes more often... ;)

Also it wouldn't really be ripping them off, they resell steelbooks through Warehouse Deals.

It's certainly morally wrong. You can't just return something to Amazon with a damaged item which was not their fault. That'll just be taking advantage of their good customer service.

Well, you can actually. It doesn't matter if it's the fault of the retailer or the manufacturer, the retailer will have to replace it anyway. If it's a manufacturing problem, it's up to the retailer to take it up with the manufacturer, but without holding the customer responsible.

That said, if I know an item is defective, I would never order it just so I could return it for a refund. When it comes to steelbooks it's down to the aesthetics. I can live with a defect as long as it doesn't affect the overall quality too much. If there's scratches, paint chips and such, I might return it. I got the Lion King steel from Taiwan with a spine error, but it didn't really bother me. Besides, I was made aware of the possibility before shipping, because I was prepared.

I wasn't at all impressed by the overall quality of this wave. Everything from the print quality and colours and layout to the content is sup-par. If you compare these to other steels with classic artwork you'll be able to see the difference. I ordered a few of these, but stopped, but after the first ones arrived I didn't bother collecting them all.

What really annoys me nowadays, is how so many steelbooks have embossing that is misaligned with the actual artwork. It really looks pretty bad and completely removes the whole purpose of embossing effects. Clearly this isn't the forcus of QA at the moment.

Sorry, I misread this one. If you actually suggest that the defective steelbook from WowHD be returned to Amazon (after ordering a second copy with Amazon) that's just plain wrong.

has anybody noticed the asking price increase for this steelbook? seems to be oop/oos everywhere now. i'm curious to see which ones of the wave follow next.

A Streetcar Named Desire is another one. I guess it's due to them being so cheap for so long. The funny thing is that the price will probably rocket because collectors haven't stockpiled copies of these titles expecting them to go up in value.
