@C.C. 95 @Blu-devil Those cards are payback for what is being done to Ghost in the Shell

Disclaimer: I'm looking forward to seeing Scarlett in that role.

Back to topic, happy with my FAC steels, so I'm passing on this. Good luck to whoever is ordering it :)
Casting is all about asses in seats. Is there an Asian actress who can draw like Scarlett Johansson? No.
Always $$ first with Hollywood casting. If they thought Bigfoot would bring in more $$ they would do that.

And, at first look :watch:of the poster(Have not see the film yet) the heroine does not look like a Japanese or Chinese model in any way.

So casting a non Asian originate actor is not an issue.

But it is an issue for the cast and scenario of the Dragon Ball movie which i will totally not see, maybe for life.

Casting was the least of the issues with Dragon Ball!

There is always a select group of actors and actresses that Hollywood,as a group, kind of anoint as the "next big things". They have always done this. They have actual ceremonies introducing the "stars of tomorrow".
Sometimes it works out. Sometimes it doesn't (they gave the "Action Star of Tomorrow" award to Howie Long in 1998 - on the pre release strength of *cough* FIRESTORM (oops)).
The next big actor is chosen before the public knows this particular actor has been anointed. So all of a sudden you have a rash of films from people you barely know (Joel Edgerton, Jai Courney, Sam Worthington, Margot Robbie) because they have been hit with that "buzz". And within the industry it becomes a thing. Producers will want this "new guy" because everyone else does (and they don't want to be left out), and the whole thing snowballs like crazy until you and I are left scratching our heads going "why do they keep putting F**king Jai Courtney in movies?!!!" after he has gotten the lead in ten movies based on the strength of....NOTHING. Just buzz.
If you look back at articles from the past, you can see all the actors who were dubbed the "next big thing" and never were: Johnny Whitworth, Hayden Christensen, Brandon Routh, Taylor Kitsch, Lily Collins, Monica Potter, Gabrielle Anwar....they were all hit with that tag - and pushed. But never panned out.
I think Scarlett Johannson is a decent enough actress. I have never seen her give an amazing performance in a film - but she is definitley competent enough. She chose her films well enough to have her name become a brand. She at least is an actress. Most "actresses" these days are just girls with no acting training or experience who skate on looks.

(And I still believe that if Johannson wasn't famous- and you saw her in real life, dressed normal- you wouldn't look twice....)
