Dear collectors,

let us inform you that our quality inspection haS discovered damage on almost half of the entire batch of THE MARTIAN SteelBooks.

On attached pictures you can see the damage on the back side of steelbooks. Damaged pieces will be claimed, however, it will be very hard to get new copies.

For tonight was scheduled the start of FAC #28 THE MARTIAN pre-orders for still collectible numbers. Once we find out the exact number of perfect copies, we will modify Beauty shot and run preorders.

We look forward to better news soon.

I just read this with Google translate. Saying something that they printed 3000 pieces. Planning to make 2000 FAC Editions and later a batch of a 1000 unnumbered. Just like fast & furious 7. About 1500 steelbooks are damaged. I couldn't really make out if this means definitely that the FAC Edition will be numbered up to 1500. But it looks like it

Anybody have any trouble with damaged copies from HMV?

I got mine from HMV Oxford street on release day where they were all kept behind the paying counter. However every one I saw in the Covent Garden Fopp were in pretty great condition. The staff member behind the counter at HMV who handed me my copy gave me one that's absolutely pristine, no scratches or chips at all. Funnily enough he handed it over to me and asked if I would like to check it and see if I was happy with it, as he stated that almost everyone who buys a steelbook there seems to check their condition before buying them. I had an inner smile at that I must admit, but he also said that they all seemed to be in really good condition as no one had been unhappy with any of them after checking them for imperfections.

So each of those stores had pretty good batches, makes me wonder what happened to the FAC ones?
