Kinchidvd have already despatched my lenti steelbook for The Martian though...and Film Arena are certainly killing it with delays.

wouldn't kill it for me. sounds kinda cheap excuse to diss FA. you'll have em both in time.

edit : i'd rather have whole working package, than having to wait for replacement discs ... !!!

In my opinion, FA are the kings in the premium steelbook market, their delays are relatively short, apart from a handful, and you get more bang for your buck. However I couldn't dismiss the likes of Kimchi or Nova, although the price range is a bit higher, they do come with some quality products and I'm always gutted to miss out on some of them.

The only retailer I feel are not for me are blufans. Their products seem to me to be overpriced for the quality of what you get, however, I can't knock them for the WEA steels they do, but the LONG delays and quality of everything else apart from their steelbooks, seems sub par to me, but that's just my opinion.

Spot on as far as quality of slips go. For packages my two cents worth is in FA's corner! Although I do like those stickered little envelopes from PA

IMO and in my mind it's good that PA and FAC and two differend kind of beasts : FAC releases shine in popular films - PA shine in alternative/independed releases. I am SO happy that they are not competing in the same field.

The extras are a nice bonus but ultimately it is the Steelbook and slip combination that really matters in my opinion. I think the Kimchi version wins on quality alone but the Film Arena version offers better value for money.

I agree with you there. Haven't once even opened the 'art/post cards' or looked at any booklets from any of the premium releases I have.

Same, I've never opened the cards and rarely look at the booklets. I do like the way the booklets look next to the steel though, especially if there's a spine title (Zero Dark Thirty). But the design of the Kimchi lenti is more interesting to me, it reminds me of a PA design, and the inclusion of a spine sticker is a big plus. What am I saying though, I missed out on both releases.

I'm afraid you are in the same position as me, if you want it that badly your only hope is a reseller/ebay, the group buys are long gone.

Wasn't this print run halved though due to damaged steelbooks in production? Limited to 1 copy per person.

It'll be even tougher to source on the secondary market than a regular FAC for that reason alone.

I believe it was, I've seen this on the bay for £159.99 buy it now and I've seen a couple of auctions which were around the £60+ mark and still in progress, but not exactly flooded....
