So what exactly is the problem if you have the tracking number? Is it actually in transit because if so there is not a lot that EB will be able to do for a set amount of time usually 2 weeks if it's Royal Mail.

The problem is that I’ve got my tracking number for six days now and they say it has been sent. But where is it then? Why am I not able to see it in the system? How is that possible that someone in the other side of the world got his/her package several days ago and me, who is living in the EU did not get it yet?!

Tracking number is a International Tracked service but so far has not been scanned as a received item with royal mail

I got my tracking number on Friday 25th August
It's now Thursday 31st August

6 days later tracking number has not been scanned yet by royal mail


I know tracking can sometimes not update until after 24-48 hours with some UK postal carriers but it's usually does update after 3 days
Royal Mail tracked parcels usually updates very quickly on their system once it's been scanned at a post office or when collected

If your talking about anyone from the UK received there's I did on Tuesday and my tracking updated smoothly

My Royal Mail tracking number is listed as International Tracked

Royal Mail list International Tracked as Our fastest international service with tracking to the destination

Yes it it fast and usually only 2-5 days max to be delivered to Rep of Ireland but that needs one crucial element to achieve this they would have to have the actual parcel to do this

I have had previously International Tracked parcels with Royal mail before from UK arrive in 2 days to Ireland

Tracking numbers are easily created online but it does need to be posted or collected and scanned into the system to be in transit

It really would be best if shipping emails and tracking numbers be not provided until parcels have actually been either dropped off at a post office or collected by royal mail and scanned into the system by royal mail

I only do that in private messages with seller or with a retailer direct

I don't like tracking numbers in general seen by others in public threads as it can be a security risk someone knowing your tracking number
