With so many releases, seems quality is dropping. This looks a major disappointment, Rambo is awful IMO, Jungle Book has its issues though inside is stunning IMO. Quite honestly recent releases are just a disaster, Aladdin and Taxi driver the exception based on feedback.

A point I have raised before is that Zavvi really need to improve their mock ups as too many are different in hand. If it has a border, then the art should reflect that. I am sure they approve samples way before release date therefore updating such info would be helpful to most. Most other retailers have no such issues

Maybe everybody straight sends it back without opening the package ;)
I don't really know what I will do, the pictures we've seen don't leave a good impression at all. But I'll wait for more pics and my personal copy before i decide.
Can you just return the steelbook to zavvi because the final product doesn't match the artwork on their site?

You can basically return an item for whatever reason.

If you are not satisfied with the product return it. :)

that might be a difficult one to dispute, unfortunately, but certainly worth a try............

If you're in the UK don't bother, just send it back under the Distance Selling regulations.

Under the Distance Selling regulations you can change your mind and send it back up to 7 days after receiving it for almost anything ordered over the internet and they can do nothing about it - they have to refund you.

I don't know if this also applies to overseas buyers though.

Your right to cancel an order

The Distance Selling Regulations state that your right to cancel an order starts the moment you place your order and doesn’t end until seven working days from the day after you receive your goods.

This is the minimum consumers must be given and many sellers choose to exceed this, so always check the terms and conditions in case you have longer to return your items.

As this seven-day working period is the time you have to decide whether to cancel, the seller can’t say that you must have returned the goods within this time frame.

Confirmation of your cancellation should be sent by email, letter or fax.

If you're unable to cancel an order made at a distance, use our template letter to make a complaint.

The goods you can't return

There are some goods you can't return if you simply change your mind, including:

CDs, DVDs or software if you've broken the seal on the wrapping
perishable and other items that deteriorate rapidly such as food and flowers
tailor-made or personalised goods
underwear and earrings

Very well put. This year has seen some of the est Uk releases to date and all thanks to Zavvi for actually doing something

Since you work for them, what's going on Zavvi with excluding the bonus Blu-ray disc(s)?
The Nightmare Before Christmas & The Little Mermaid are missing their rightful 3D disc.

The reason b/c they are of top quality is Disney. FS or BB could release these same titles and they would still be of top quality. When has Disney failed to release a decent title? Credit goes to Disney not Zavvi.

The other steels like Black Swan and I, Robot are okay, but nothing special. A good number of these have paint chips b/c the weak matte finish. Let's also not forget the spine slashes. Yep okay, great job Zavvi. *sarcasm*

All of their UK releases before Roger Rabbit (including HMV exclusives and the Play.com exclusive Buena Vista wave) and the Touchstone wave from Germany are good examples of bad Disney Steelbooks. Zavvi deserve as much credit as Disney for the quality of these Steelbooks. Many blame Zavvi for the poor quality of some Steelbooks and yet don't give them the credit they deserve when they do get it right.

I'm amazed that some people still don't understand that it's the STUDIO that controls the artwork, finish and content on a steelbook release. Thankfully some retailers do sometimes have a small say (play, zavvi) to help push releases in a certain direction but they don't have anywhere near full control.

Well said.
I mentioned this fact a few months ago in regards to Play.coms steelbook exclusive releases and I said that Play don't actually have their own Steelbook machine sitting out the back.
I got royally shouted on this forum by some one who cannot read.

No post on a Sunday. Zavvi posted them Thursday afternoon so I assume they'll arrive tomorrow.
Yeah of course I know there's no post on sunday.

But some may have received it saturday and was too busy posting pics. I just know how quick some members receive their package, if they're lucky.

But yeah, monday is probably the day.

Yeah true I was expecting it yesterday. Will post photos if I happen to get it before everyone else, unfortunately post in my area usually arrives around 2.30-4.30pm, sometimes earlier sometimes later.
