I like the artwork on this but to be honest it doesn't really need to be embossed. Looks like it was done for the sake of it. Glad it's glossy though.

This has that strange effect on the front and back that a lot of Warner steelbooks seem to have where if you hold it at the wrong angle it distorts the whole image.

But seeing as it's glossy, I'm keeping it purely for the rarity of a gloss finish at the moment.

Nick Nameless is right. We can disregard the whole discussion about Zavvi needing to get the attention of casual buyers. This is just utterly lazy rehashing of old artwork to get a quick buck

Where had this artwork been used before, I don't remember seeing it anywhere. I think they have done a good job on this one, it's embossed, glossy and has some decent artwork. I'm happy with it.

As this still got the LOSSY 5.1 dolby digital track or is it DTS MA ?

It's still got the standard lossy 5.1 track. I presume it's the same disc as the original version.

Lot of hate for this one - which surprises me as I think it's pretty awesome myself. The front stands out nicely and the embossing has been well done.

Starting to wonder why some people pre-order ANYTHING as they may as well wait to see in hand pics and then make a decision. For me, I wanted this film on Blu-ray so was happy to order in advance. Glad I did too.

I don't understand why you would send this one back though, I think it's great myself :)

The problem is the front artwork which is way too distracting. The back is decent and the inside artwork is a bit too dark. I am keeping one copy and returning the other with Apes and Olympus has fallen which is another dull looking Steelbook.:(

Basically I am sick and tired of Steelbooks looking great in mockups but not in hand.

It's not fair as I think this is a really nice steelbook and I end up with a great big chip on the front of mine. I have to send it back now in the hope I get a decent copy. :(

Myself wasn't complaining about the art. I just don't understand why this steel has to have the actor names, etc. on it, when it's covered by the j-card anyway. I thought this is an advertising thing primarily. Quite strange imho.

Putting the names on the steelbook was inforced by the studio.

What steelbook do you think looks good in hand?

My copy has been received and after taking a good look I really like it, the design is good and the finishing is very good. The pattern on the front is really quite striking and even better when held at different angles. I think the gloss finish has really helped here and is another prime example as to why most steels should be gloss with the occasional mat finish not the other way round. This is coming in third place out of all the steelbooks I have received this week but am still waiting on goodies which I'm sure will knock this down to fourth. Overall a good effort so I'm pleased with it and will definitely be keeping it.

Sorry meant goonies but I'd definitely buy the goodies if it came out

And so is the "from the director of..." crap. I know. But why doing this kind of promotion, if it's hidden behind the j-card after all. As I said, I always thought the meaning of this is to attract costumers... but whatever.

Not everybody keeps the j cards on, taking it off and throwing it away is the 1st thing I do, also this is nothing new from WB, inception, dark knight and dark knight rises (both uk versions) all have the same info on the steelbook.
