I personally love the artwork. Happy to see a different image on the front, it works very well but has to be full gloss or very intricate spot glossing.

I think the back artwork would be better for the front as the front hurts your eyes if you look at it to long plus I don't understand the big black bar?

I have the studio release/original poster of this movie
which is sought after in that part of the collecting world.

The artwork is amazing.
The swirl gives a 3D effect.

amaray release from italy suggests you may be right, but the fact you can see christian bale's head through the black makes me think its a j-card

I'm putting my bet in right now. I say the top black part, including the "director of" crap and the cast names, are on the j-card only, and when removed, will cleanly display the rest of the artwork at the top.

Surely they can shuffle the image up a bit? doing a quick google image search brings up quite a few examples of that artwork being used on posters and in all of them there is a lot more of Hugh Jackmans body, not much more above the top of Bales head though, so surely (hopefully) this is an early artwork example and the top section, black banner etc will go or are part of a j card, if not its a real deal breaker for me, I love the film and do like the artwork but the top 1/3 is just awful
