Looks like this one is much better than the prequel with some intense actions sequences. Hoping for a Steelbook release.

Just wnet and seen this last night and will definetly be buying this as it was immense and couldnt ask for much more (even if my ass was going numb by the end)
This is definitely one of the greatest movies I've EVER seen! So DAMN intense! 
Unfortunately not.
The only aspect the sequel couldn't match and overlap was the soundtrack. Other than that, The Raid 2 is amazing.
For anyone yet to watch it, a read through of the end credits is a good laugh. Dildo girl
Rather than a separate individual release, the best scenario for me would be a trilogy steelbook once the third film comes out. If one of the more creative Asian steelbook producers handle this property, I'll be first in line to pay up.

The raid (play.com) is still my favourite of all my steels.. I hope they release this and compliments the first movie.

I actually prefer (and own) the German steelbook. Though the play one is beautiful and I will be picking it up at some point.
I've never seen the geman steel in hand, it looks nice from the pictures I've seen. I just love the uk one, the colours, great use of debossing front and back, such brilliant artwork
I'll have to have another look at the geman edition and see how much it goes for these days as to if I want to add it to my collection. As you own it, can you tell me a bit about it, emboss deboss, is it white or silver etc.. and why you prefer it to the UK release? Cheers

German raid is white, gloss, no embossing or debossing.
I think it's purely the artwork for me... Both are mondo and similar, the German artwork is just more to my taste I guess. I think the front of the German one (rear of the UK one) is quite striking and the rear of the German one is awesome
Internal artwork is a still from the film of the two of them falling from the building, as depicted in the rear mondo artwork.
I got mine on amazon.de for under €20
Edit: I've just seen that the windows on the play version are debossed. I'm off to go hunt one down.

i'd forgotten what the back artwork was, good to know its gloss too the whole steelbook looks brilliant, definitely one I'd like to pick up when I have a few extra pennies.. I rarely double or triple dip on steelbooks.. just a select few, and this geman edition is on my list now.gonna see raid 2 tomorrow. . Hey buddy just be aware if you are planning on opening and watching the German steelbook it doesn't have English audio or subs.
Thanks kron, always good to know what disc's I can use, I have to say, it wouldn't of occured to me that the german raid wouldn't have english subs.
I open all my steels but I'd never get rid of my play.com raid SB so I can keep watching the uk one
its funny cos I don't really think of movies not containing english subs(I really should
) I remember years ago I ordered a copy of death note 1&2 boxset from china and I put it on to watch and there were no english subs
so I had to buy it twice). I can be a bit of a dumb ass sometimes lol.thanks Kron
Yeah I should've mentioned that, not so much for you as you have the UK edition, but for others. I have the amaray release already, so the German steelbook was purely for aesthetics

Great fight sequences very different from the first movie as this one had a story line I would definitely buy a steelbook of this movie.. I'm already looking forward to watching raid 2 again.... think I'll enjoy it even more second time round:movie:.. this film packed in everything you could possibly want from this genre

Saw this last week. The fight scenes are much better than the first one but I still hold the first one at the top. Sure, will buy this one.

Yep it really is one of the best steelbooks and it still sells for upwards of £30 so I think the retailers would be crazy to miss the opportunity to realease the second one in the same style and specks as the first.. as I'm sure it would sell out like the first one

I agree, I love the first one, I like the simplicity of it "die hard style"
raid 2's fight scenes were epic, I loved the use of the different locations/settings the writer's came up with for the fight scenes to take place.
The movie was 2 and half hours long and I went to the late showing and I found myself getting a little bored in places with the crime drama storyline, like there were scenes that weren't needed or could've been shorter maybe?during some of them I felt like I wanted to just get back to the action (that might just be cos I watched it so late at night and I was getting tired
).over all I loved it, excellent film.. one i will watch many more times in the future.. if they don't cash in on an awesome looking steelbook I will be extremely disappointed, I hate having a favorite film on steelbook then having the sequel in plastic
