ok, I am gonna rant, about this forum,
all I did was ask a question about what is the deal with collecting pop vinyls? And then BOOM, my thread got locked hahaha :rofl:Look at Hot Toys and Sideshow Collectibles, and even Steelbook's. When BestBuy or Walmart or Target put out new release movies that also include Steelbooks, its like average, 5-10 Steelbooks and 40 Copies of any movie. You all know what I am talking about. the stuff Sideshow collectables sell they only make a handful. Go to Ebay look at older Hot Toys or out of production, and they have more than doubled their price and then some.
I also made a comment that those pop vinyls are most likely gonna go the way of the Beanie Babies, where as the market was flooded with them. take a walk in any store, the shelves of pop vinyls are ridiculously filled. you can bet that the warehouse is full of crates of those too lol.
yes, everyone is different. long time ago one of my co workers who is a bottle collector tried to sell me a bottle. said it was worth $750 and gonna offer it to me for $400. I told him no. And that's when it hit me about being a collector of anything. the only person that is gonna buy a collectable item of whatever you have, is someone else who is also a collector of the same product you are collecting, not your next door neighbor.:rolleyes:
I like the stuff I am collecting, I only grab things that have meaning to me, Aliens, Predator and whatever cool things I can afford lol. I plan on giving all this stuff to my son for an inheritance purposes.
Knowing what I know now about collecting you have no idea how many times I would like to kick myself in the arse over stuff that I came into contact with from the past. the biggest one is the Kenner Alien Doll, I saw stacks of them at my local toy store, the price was $19.99 do you know how much they go for now? :OMG: sigh.
well, anyways, if my thread never got closed I would have never spent the time to write this, so thank him for my rant :LOL:

:angry:

Not sure where else to say this - as there doesn't appear to be an eBay Rant thread - I purchased two steelbooks on eBay last week, UK seller, pics were okay and listings stated no j-card. Decent price, made BEST OFFERS and waited. This went on, back & forth, and we agreed a deal. Then tried to email asking for an invoice for combined shipping and got the following from eBay;

The seller does not offer combined postage discounts
The seller has disallowed combined payments and postage discounts. Please proceed to checkout to complete your purchase.

So I emailed the seller, and in few words, he replied;

As stated I do not offer combined shipping, so delivery of £3.00 per steelbook stands.

I thought - okay - feedback indicates decent packaging, so £3.00 per steelbook if boxed, I can live with.

Items arrive today, in jiffy bag costing £1.26 each. Seller charged £3.00 per steel and would NOT combine shipping.

Really ticks me off sellers who try and profit from postage like this - have left neutral feedback and if anyone wants his user id, PM me, as I'm pretty sure I'm probably not allowed to list it here.

I had a a recent ebay experience as well. Nothing major but just made me a little irate

I managed to nab an OOP 3D Blu-ray of Dune. It's the edition with lenticular sleeve and CD soundtrack. I had been after it for a while so was happy that it was listed at BIN or best offer in my price range

It was listed for 10 euros so I offered 7 euros for it. instantly declined

I then offered 8 euros for it. instantly declined

Third and final best offer for 9 euros and 50 cents (50 cents below the actual BIN now price) instantly declined!

Ended up buying it for 10 euros and the guy was pleasant enough to talk to (my ebay app was messing up and kept saying payment was declined even though i had the paypal confirmation) and sent it via registered post that morning but why list it as best offer lol!

I purchased X-Men 1, 2, 3, 4 ... Futurepaks from USA, paid import tax. They were described as MINT. They arrived with scratches and dents.

Instantly refunded after whinging (which makes a change) and got to keep the steels. But the Global Shipping Program are refusing to refund me the import duty. So I am out of pocket by £28.

Perfect.

Feel like smashing somebodys face in as I know nobody will buy these here in the UK. They're REGION A discs as well. At best I will get back £18-20 after fees. So i'm still £8 out of pocket.

:whistle::whistle: it was quick :thumbs: .

Lets be honest tho the fight was never really gonna be upto much , being on dave :rofl::rofl::p

Think Joshua will deal with him tho should the fight happen :naughty:

I think if fury fought Joshua that would be a good show of what they really have, getting a tough opponent for a change, see if Britain truly is the boxing place to be just now

Joshua is fast and very good with the knock out , something i think fury will find very hard to deal with should the fight happen

Haven't seen a rant in here in awhile... what's going on guys and girls?

Has anyone else notice that their haven't been any major scientific advances for men in ages?i was reading New scientist magazine and all the breakthroughs in science recently have been for women.What about us?We have problems too ya know.scientist are so busy trying to find new ways for women to kill babies legally and get around their period ,that they seem to over look the ridiculously high suicide rate of young men and boys, and also the rise in men's breast and colon cancer.They are leaving us out in the cold it would seem.Women seem to be the sole beneficiaries of the new wave of science breakthroughs. what happened to science being used to help everyone?Fix what needs to be fixed, not what makes a single gender happy.

All the new "discoveries" that men are getting are to change them into women somehow.They are actually studying ways for men to bare children.i don't know about you ,but that's nowhere on my list of most important things to worry about.Science is just being used, now, to get around the laws of nature such as sex and natural selection.

Scientist are actually nearing completion on gene editing so someone(Most likely the mother) can make a baby like a freaking bear.you can chose eye color, skin color and possibly sex.Once again, how is this helping anyone?Just another way to get around nature imo.

I know that ,most likely ,the suicide rates are a cause of the shift in power from men to women and society telling men that "boys being boys" has no place , but their could be another major underlying issue.I would bet on some kind of chemical imbalance being a factor .But no one seems to care about it enough to study this glaring statistic.also, what about studies into men dying earlier then women, and having a larger risk of heart disease?None of this stuff seems to matter,though.

not a major rant but an observation of what I've been seeing in recent health and science based magazines and online articles.
