I've been meaning to revisit this film. I remember Siskel and Ebert loved this film. And Peter Hyams sometimes delivers some pretty good films. Haven't seen it since release. I remember sort of dismissing it as too derivitive of Alien at the time, but I have been meaning to take a second look.

I remember enjoying this movie when I first saw it years ago, and after reading the book. I have the original Region A locked blu-ray and will now have to watch this again in the next few days.
Visually it's quite a dark movie with lots of scenes in tunnels if I remember correctly. Would really like a 4K release as it would perhaps benefit from HDR, but don't suppose that's likely to happen.

This release doesn't seem to have anything extra from the original release, unless there are additional extras (other than a commentary and interview with Peter Hyams and a trailer). Also the running time seems to be the same.

I have the original laserdisc and it still rocks so I would love a 4k release....

If it's not a new transfer I don't think there's any reason for you to get it. (Unless you're a big fan of commentaries)
it will probably be the exact same copy that you already own

I checked. I have it on blu-ray. I thought I had it somewhere. Pretty early blu-ray
