Oh really... seems a bit odd to me.
With a limited release as this, I think you should leave it for the people who really like the film.
It's a shame some people who really love the film miss it cause of people like you, who just want it to say 'look at me, don't like it anyway... but ey, i've got it, you dont'

Not at all i would never say look i have it and you dont. I have streamlined my collecting from all steels to Mainly FAC and NOVA. As a collector i want to have all FACs. you could say the same about people who double and triple dip. Why do people need more than one copy of the same movie? I like what FAC do and i want to watch this movie again. People can buy what they want and i do not judge. If i could buy every release then i would buy them, but i need food. As i said in my post i appreciate the efforts going in to the film. I didnt hate the film just didnt love it like some people. I will however LOVE the steel and the FAC treatment. there are collectors who didint enjoy BVS but will buy the steelbook - probably multiple editions. also what about the collectors who blind buy? just saying as collectors we buy whatever editions we want in our collection and no one should be judged and called people like me.

I am not going to comment on this matter anymore as i will buy whatever releases i want. I am only buying one copy which is my right as a collector.

Regarding the steelbook itself, those more informed on FilmArena and how these all work in general. What's different about this one than say the standard HMV one or the Kimchi one? Curious because on the face of it they all just seem to be the same exact artwork so I'm not sure if I'm missing some finer detail that makes it worth investing in.

I can understand that sentiment. I don't necessarily understand the desire to own something just for the sake of owning it, irrespective of whether or not you actually enjoy the thing you're buying. Seems peculiar. Like being allergic to peanuts but buying a Snickers anyway because it says limited edition on the front, what's the point if all you can do is look at it and not actually enjoy it.

But believe it or not, people do buy simply for it's rarity. So if that Snickers is limited to 500 bars (and/or had numbering), there are 100s of us who will pay to own it. But majority of us have a healthy balance of opening and not opening some. And then there are people who are pure OCD and won't open any premium releases even if they love the movie. It's just different people have different desires.
