Got in an order for one of each of the new steelbooks which went live today. Have to admit, while I'm a bigger fan of Evil Dead 2 and Starship Troopers in terms of the movies themselves, I'm most looking forward to getting this one in hand. Such a stunning cover and solid back art. Very curious on seeing what the interior will look like.

I'm thinking should I have this shipped directly to me or to a friend over in the UK? Anyone in the US who's received steelbooks in the past from zavvi had any issues with previous orders?

No issues so far. HiDefNinja members expressed concerns with their packaging in the past and they complied with better packaging. see thread here:

edit:

oops. Based on the comments on that thread, it's rather hit or miss with Zavvi. No issues with my steels from Zavvi so far.

Yeah I kind of figured it would be hit & miss. The only sb's I have on order so far are the first 3 Indiana Jones and Aladdin. In a way i prefer having them ordered thru a friend in the UK than have them shipped at a later date. I feel like if I order thru zavvi and it comes damaged I might lose out since the movie is no longer available.

I never have problem with my previous orders. Every steelbooks arrived in mint condition even when they used just the brown envelope instead of their new packaging. Beside it is cheaper to ship direct only .99 gbp for 3 steelbooks. I ordered evil dead 2, rocketeer and starship trooper in one single order and save 4gbp with .99 gbp for shipping. Can't beat their shipping price.

The Rocketeer and Starship are the same release day correct? I should have done that instead of ordering them individually.

Just ordered 2 myself... and THANK YOU to whomever posted the savings code. It is the first one that has ever worked for me with Zavvi. It so happens that I just watched this movie for the first time in 20 years... about a year or so ago when it came on HBO. Very nostalgic-like... it has aged gracefully due to the timeframe that the movie occurs in. Good movie and very nice looking steel!

I don't remember if i had even seen this movie so i don't know if I like it but the Steel lools great so I ordered it anyway

Discount was awesome, just got myself this one and the Starship Troopers, here's hoping they only charge my card in September though lol

Your fine, they won't charge until despatch. That's what makes pre-ordering with Zavvi a no brainer. Get the order in, secure a copy, you can always cancel it latter.

Though with this edition, you would be mad to cancel.
