Nemo, Roger Rabbit, The Book of the Jungle, The Little Mermaid, Tron and Rocketeer steelbooks are in a different league than Con Air, Die Hard 3, Armageddon and The Rock steelbooks (I'm talking about quality of the steelbooks, not the films)

Just because Disney is the parent company, doesn't mean they controlled those releases. Those are touchtone releases. That's like saying that Nike owns Starter so if starter sucks its Nike's fault.

Touchstone is Disney. It's a brand used to market their more mature releases, it's not a separate company.

Marvel is also Disney, but everybody will seem extrange to see the Punisher and Mickey Mouse together in a buddy movie.

Touchstone is not a separate company from Disney, but it is focused in a certain audience (like Marvel is), which is different than the audience who concentrates the core of Disney (children and their families).

What I am trying to say is that earlier releases have proved than Touchstone steelbooks and Disney steelbooks hadn't share the same commercial standards

All the titles you mentioned all showed interior artwork before release. With these releases Zavvi haven't shown any inside artwork shots which isn't a good sign. Maybe there will be, hard to know yet but you normally get to see the interior artwork on these mock up pics.

You are right, but think about the release policy of Play (1, 2, 3... per month). Now, think about the release policy of Zavvi. They announce 87 different steelbooks every day. One of the many consequences is that, the lack of right info.

I'm more worried about the back cover of Rocketeer steelbook than the absence of inside artwork :(

Zavvi havent released that many more than play was doing.

Be happy that someone had taken up releasing steelbooks.

Zavvi have made mistakes, but at least they seem to be listening to us, thanks to wreck and other mods who work so dam hard with little or no recognition

I agree that it's good that someone is taking up the steelbook mantle and they have done lots for the community. However Zavvi have released/announced more than Play. I posted this in the Aalddin thread:

"Between Feb 2012 and Feb 2013 Play.com released 61 Exclusive steels which equates to about 5 a month.

Since March 2013 Zavvi have announced 51 Exclusives. If these are released this year it also makes 5 a month. Which would be the same if Zavvi were only going to release another 10 more steels until March 2013, which is unlikely.

Also the amount coming in Sept and October is mind-boggling."

This was before Gremlins and Olympus has Fallen. It is a negligible rise but we're only in July and we can be fairly certain there will be lots more to come before March.

I think there are far too many steels being released generally. Zavvi just seem to get the brunt as they release the most.

Back on topic though.... I think the front artwork will look incredible in hand. I can't wait to get this.

What you're conveniently forgetting, is that there were a lot more trade wide releases and HMV did exclusives when Play.com were around. Zavvi are effectively releasing all of those titles now, except for a handful of non-exclusives.

Good point. That's what I was getting at at the end when I said Zavvi get the brunt of it as they seem to be the ones releasing the most.

But we have had trade waves this year too (Fox). There seems to be generally just so many steels being pumped out by studios with lax quality control that it's lost a bit of it's charm for me.

I think it's ace that a lot of these movies are coming out again for a blu ray upgrade and with the added bonus of it being in a steelbook..... look at this cover... how retro and how cool! If it wasn't Zavvi, then we'd be moaning about another company. I for one will choose what film I remember going to see when I was younger that made an impression on me and this was one. It's a bonus being in a steel, but it's all about the movie too. Rejoice that some classic Saturday afternoon cinema movies are making a cool come back.

Really looking forward to seeing this again, and for the first time in HD. Only a week or so to go... come on Zavvi, get these to us pristine. I had a faint half of a spine slash on my Jungle Book, which pissed me off considering the price, so I'm crossing my fingers for this and Tron.
