The title says it all. Although I say "possible" but it seems pretty sure because the source is from the french Magazine Les Années Laser.
It will be available in every store, no exlusive. Release date is 4th April.

Order here (please note, Amazon.fr does not guarantee that they will send a Steelbook vs. Amaray, even if you contact them in advance).Order at your own risk.

It's confirmed G2 size.

Thanks AX...interesting...perhaps Warner has had a change of heart? (they previously said they were planning to do only G1's). Or they are reserving G2's for store exclusives. Is this only at this retailer? I don't see it at Amazon.fr for instance...

It's from Paramount not Warner.
It's a national wide release.

Remember that the Steelbook Edition is available for a short time, and then it will be replaced by Amaray, I think that's why Amazon says nothing or shows nothing about it being a Steelbook.

Ax-I am not sure the Amazon.fr version ever showed a Steelbook though. That picture now looks like an Amaray with a slip. Is there anyway you can confirm whether this is only a store exclusive?

According to the french magasine "Les années laser" and another reliable website in France, Paramount told them that the Steelbook is not exclusive to any store.
I took the risk to order from Amazon, the shipping is for tomorrow, so in a few days I could tell you if it's a Steelbook or not.

No need to lead a groupbuy for this one, the steelbook is available everywhere.
No one in France can beat amazon's prices

I think it will be the same as usual : the first print will be a steelbook, and then an amaray. There's probably no risk in ordering from amazon.fr or fnac.com
