I thought the red banner on the French version looked pretty nice, so I went ahead and pre'd that one instead of the German version. That wasn't the deciding factor though. I chose the French one simply because I've made so many orders with amz.de & .es that I'm running out of German steels that I want to buy. So getting it from amz.fr gives me a chance to buy some French steels that I've been wanting to get.
The artwork on Amazon.fr does not look like it's for the steelbook. Looks like a regular release with slipcase. Probably just a temporary placeholder artwork.

seen as the play version has been postponed shouldent this be also? as im assuming this also has the new transfer...?? which hasnt been approved yet.

It's actually a good thing. The UK one got pushed back due to delays with the new transfer. You have to assume it's the same reason for this one, which is good news as it means it most likely has the new transfer.

they can take as long as they want with this IMHO

as long as the final result is PERFECT.... :D

You reckon this is better than the UK one?

I think the Play edition is better. First off we here at HDN were able to choose what the artwork is for the inside so it makes it special as we had a hand in it's creation. Secondly the Play edition has been confirmed to have a new Blu-ray master, I'm not sure if this one has or not. Thirdly I like the artwork especially the front cover on the Play edition more seeing how this one has a weird lighting mishap on his hair. Fourthly (is there such a word, lol) Germany is notorious for having printed backs and the Play edition doesn't have that. So I think all-in-all the Play edition rocks over this one.

Heads up to anyone who's ordered this from amz.fr. Once this release was delayed, it looks as if they've decided to send the rest of my order early. So if you need to get money into your account, you might want to do so.

Informal survey-who's picking up this and the Play version? Just curious, why?:) Terminator fans?

I am. I've put in for 2 copies of the play.com version, one to open and one to keep sealed/trade/sale. Than I saw the German & French versions and thought the cover art was too bad ass not to purchase and since it wasn't too expensive, under $25 shipped, I decided to pick it up as well. And yes, I'm a big time Terminator/Arnold fan.

Hey blu-yep, I am in that boat, too. Not really wanting to buy all of these editions of the same movie. But always been a Terminator fan, so it's hard to resist two different Steels, LOL.

Yeah for sure, it has the classic Arnie look with the two guns on the side :). This one I will display with the Terminator collection, I'll put the play.com version on my shelf lined with other terminator steelz.
