Horror-meister John Carpenter (Halloween, Escape from New York) teams Kurt Russell’s outstanding performance with incredible visuals to build this chilling version of the classic The Thing. In the winter of 1982, a twelve-man research team at a remote Antarctic research station discovers an alien buried in the snow for over 100,000 years. Once unfrozen, the form-changing alien wreaks havoc, creates terror and becomes one of them.

Bonus features:

  • Feature Commentary with Director John Carpenter and Kurt Russell
  • John Carpenter's The Thing: Terror Takes Shape
  • Outtakes
  • Production & Post Production Galleries
  • Theatrical Trailer

I've not been a massive fan of the previous Japanese inspired artwork steels (Jaws and Duel) but I think this one is pretty good. On a side note - is anyone aware of any premium releases for The Thing in the pipeline?
4K UHD premium release of The Thing from Cine-Musuem is happening and possible other limited edition releases distributors in USA/UK/Europe

Thanks mate. Gonna pass though... it's just becoming an excuse to take advantage of collectors and re-release the same movies yet again.

That’s fine. Personally I love this little Japanese line. And the non 4K ones seem to be priced more appropriately compared to Zavvi

I’m not interested in #4 though

I love this movie but how many steelbook are needed for this film? I’d rather have just one steelbook for the 1951 classic.

I’m glad I own the Arrow steelbook so I don’t need another for the 1982 movie. Maybe that skews my thinking on the need for something like this - but I don’t like the front artwork anyway.

I'm having this issue too.

Seems HMV are currently having problems.
Yes I had issues about 1 hour ago
I could not get payment page work
I think it's to do with 2 for £30 on 4K star wars offer overloading HMV website

I changed my router IP address and managed to do an order in past few min

A tech savvy solution it appears to be...
