Official word from ES:

We’re certainly planning to continue doing all future seasons of The Walking Dead in steelbook with matching artwork – it looks likely season 4 will be out in September 2014 as it follows the same pattern as Game of Thrones (i.e. the new season hits DVD and Blu-Ray just before the new season starts).

We’ve been told that the steelbooks will feature in the US Walking Dead magazine, so likely to be quite a bit of international interest for these.

The Entertainment Store is pleased to announce our latest exclusive steelbook releases: Seasons 1, 2 and 3 of The Walking Dead, AMC’s Emmy Award winning TV series.

Each season features world exclusive artwork by Mark Simpson AKA Jock, who is responsible for some of best regarded comics and art of this generation, having worked on 2000AD, The Losers and Hellblazer amongst others as well as producing artwork for many major film studios, including the artwork for HDN Steelbook of the Year 2012 winner The Raid.

NB: Due to the number of discs needed for all episodes and extras, Season 3 has to be in a Jumbo format case.

I'm slightly happy I cancelled these. I like them still but it needs a bit more colour. Possibly after a price drop I will purchase but going by entertainment stores history a price drop is very unlikely. Also if I buy these 3 then I have to get them all going forward and prices may increase. Just not worth it at the moment.

And the ding. That was Rick he stoved a Zombie's head in with one for the quality control test. Forget cricket bats, spades, knives or crossbows steelbooks are now the weapon of choice when a zombie horde attacks

Considering we'll likely never see a USA run of TWD, I'm snapping these up while I have a chance.

Just don't see many TV steels now-a-days, but I get what you are saying - I think I personally would have liked to see a bit more color - maybe red blood or something like that.

That's the worry of course, as the best Steelbooks available for the show and limited to only 4000 copies, they will sell out at some point and things always become more desirable when you can't get your hands on them. I'm hoping that Entertainment Store will do some sales around/after Christmas, they have yet to drop the price on any of their exclusives though so i'm not betting on it but you never know. As for the art, I think the style worked well on The Raid because it had some really interesting embossing but here it just looks a little too plain.

I'm not blown away by these. I don't think I will be double dipping on the season 3 aquarium. There is a little too much silver, the colours needed a bit more pop IMO.

A nice dark steelbook for a very dark series.

Dissapointing and not worth the money for the set in my opinion to double dip. If you don't own the series, you should certainly purchase this great show though The steelbook itself isn't great but I do really like the debossing

Not sure if it's correct or not, but I placed my order anyway.

I had asked them through ebay about combined shipping to Japan. They responded just a couple minutes ago saying that it will now calculate for international destinations, and it showed me only 1GBP shipping on the first two and 2GBP shipping for the jumbo.

I placed an order and paid, so here's hoping for the best!
