Why is no one expecting full gloss? What finishes did Universal's previous two steelbooks have? It begins with full gloss
Just looking at the back art with all those $$$ everywhere, I'm agreeing with matte finish and spot gloss.
Amazon are much better these days. No you dont get it early but ever since january all my amazon pre orders have arrived on release date via their own delivery vans and i use super saver delivery. I even got alien on a sunday
I find amazon to be a better retailer. They do charge closer to release day consistently which to me is a plus rather than having early dispatch and consequently early charge.
Anyway I always opt for German version for similar artwork as they tend to be released a week or 2 later and cheaper as well. This gives me the luxury of previewing my purchases thereby deciding if I want it or not. Sometimes you get extra features like debossing title on Kickass 2.
Perhaps, but with Zavvi I tend to get them on or before release date, with Amazon it can be after.
Will be checking this out in the next few days and deciding whether to get it or not. Luckily I work at HMV so can see it in-hand first and also choose from the 3 copies we're getting in (plus I get discount). If I don't like it, I might opt for the HMV exclusive with artcards, which I can also weigh into the decision (seeing it's £10 cheaper than the steelbook)!

If this has similar metallic finish as Rush but yellow with embossed title and like Chip says spot gloss on $ signs then this could be awesome. Rush is one of my favourite steels and proof that you don't always need a glossy finish for it to look good as long as matte is done right.
ive noticed sometimes few people get their steels the day after zavvi despatches so hopefully we'll see some pics today

Maybe that's the stock they're shifting to Italy as amazon.it exclusive
Or they recieved less stock than expected, or an error was made on the stock count there might be another reason.
We should know by this weekend or end of next week if this going to end up as a Sold Out release when live photos and videos start showing up
Here we go, got a couple of shots today. Can't really tell through the cellophane but it seems to be a similar finish to Arrow's Lady Snowblood steelbook. There might be gloss on the embossed front but I can't really gauge it.
Just to confirm, the title and flag are embossed on the front. The DiCaprio/Scorsese text isn't, nor is the spine (obviously).
