The Wolverine (3D+2D Blu-ray SteelBook) (HMV Exclusive) [UK]

I really want this (slowly getting all the x-men films on steelies thanks to the re-releases! X2 coming soon (just before this actually).
Do we know if the steelbook will have the extended/unrated cut? Apparently James Mangold was saying it's a much darker bloodier version!? YAY!
If so, i may pre-order tomorrow...

I'm glad HMV got this and even more that it contains the 3d disc. Quite sad they haven't opted for e commerce though for the lazy amongst us. I'm going to actually leave my house on release day and pick up a copy.

The answer is above your question.

The 'unrated' cut is still a 12 in the UK according to Fox's released artwork so I wouldn't expect much more bloodshed.

I was thinking of getting this but as France is getting a lenticular steel i'll get that to open and watch & keep any asian steel sealed.

I hope they include the extended/unrated edition, otherwise I may have to double dip. I read today that the extended edition run time is 165 minutes, 40 minutes over the regular cut!

I hope they do as well because an extra 40 minutes would be outstanding

As I said before, the 3D set contains 2 discs. One of which is (obviously) the theatrical version in 3D, the other disc is the extended edition and theatrical version in 2D. The extended version obviously won't be in 3D as Fox aren't about to cough up more money for no reason.

As the steelbook claims to be the 3D edition and have 2 discs then there's your answer.

I am trying to decide between this version and the Italian. I find it hard to believe that they will not use the same design for all releases of this film. If this one is truly unique, I need to see it in pics before I bite.

I might go for the Italian over this. No 3D on the front. Better content. And there's also the convenience of being able to pre-order it online knowing what the maximum price you'll pay for it is :)

Italian version has 3 discs.
1) Theatrical Cut & Extras (2D)
2) Theatrical Cut (3D)
4) Extended Cut (2D)
So it appears that we lose something.

Great, that means we are getting shafted with uncut version.

Has it been confirmed that it'll play on Region A. Love when steelbooks throw in the 3D Copy...I usually have to buy the steelbook and 3D Disc separately and combine them :hilarious:

You have one sick sense of humour man :hilarious: Pisses me right off but then maybe I should lighten up a bit :)
