I'm just curious if you had to choose between There Will be Blood or Pain & Gain
Which would you choose and why

Like the Film more or because of the limited factor or other reason

Me its very straight forward I like There Will be Blood as a movie and would have purchased as a steelbook regardless if it was limited or not

There Will Be Blood is like a gourmet steak dinner, while Pain & Gain is more like a McDonald's chicken nugget meal.

While this might be true I've watched Pain and Gain 4x times since its been released (this year) and There will be Blood twice since (2007)

I find Pain & Gain more accessible tone that entertains me delivering an off-beat, twisted, but raw and unbelievable true story. TWBB is heavy, long and an emotionally challenging experience. No Doubt the importance PTA's film has to Cinema. Its likely the best if not second best film of the past decade I'd say in competition with No Country for Old Men.

But there is something to be said for the enjoyability of a film and I'll add Pain and Gain is technically very well made, acted has a great sound track and is one of my favorite films this year.

i loved this film, so pleased i managed to pre order it! but its probably not likely to be watched still for a very long time. I loved the film but due to the length and the slowness of it, i wont rush to watch it again for another year or so perhaps on a rainy sunday!!

Just an excuse to leave it sealed when it arrives!! :)

If I'm reading this correctly, you're discussing whether or not Pain & Gain, a Michael Bay movie, is more accessible than There Will Be Blood... correct?

If its a very limited release they do cancel bulk orders above 5 if needed
This has happened with this release and others they do cancel bulk orders
Usually its very high qty's they cancel and does not affect average customer

If its not very limited you don't really get someone placing bulk orders in the first place if its not a popular title that going to sell well
and if a scalper get stuck with a unpopular title not selling well then:DWe can watch them panic trying to sell them:rofl:

Its only releases like this that scalpers effect collectors and Zavvi do cancel bulk orders when its a limited release that's customers want
There are scalpers who do this but you can bet they won't admit to it or tell you they had a bulk order cancelled

If Zavvi have a release not selling well I say they wish someone would place a bulk order:hilarious:

I'm looking forward to having this steelbook in my collection its a fantastic film with great acting:movie:

Oh no there isn't!

I got a message from one of their staff regarding how many items any single customer can order, and was told categorically there is NO LIMIT!

If it is still in my zavvi messages I'll make a a screensave if you like and put it up here.

Yes, and there are a plethora of discrepancies between what many retailers say on their 'Conditions', 'Policies' and other customer service pages, vs what is done. Some of these things are not as cut and dry, and do not necessarily apply to all products, or all product categories. On top of that there is variance sometimes of what customer service staff tells one customer over another. This happens stateside at several brick and mortar stores, for instance. Just watch the US get a Steelbook released....murder and mayhem in the threads about 'but my store manager said xxxxx'. It should all be more uniform, because it can cause confusion. But a retailer has the right to cancel orders for any number of reasons.

In my personal opinion, it would make things easier if there were limits imposed on limited releases, at the outset. But, as we've seen time and time again, people also find their way around that....making up nonsensical accounts and ordering 5 at a time. And then if the retailer tries to match by address, then the person just has them sent elsewhere. Where there is a will there is a way.

As a fellow fan of limited editions, I am glad about any actions a retailer takes to cancel orders as they see fit, if they get the feeling it's coming from a reseller-whether the limits are imposed earlier (they may not know how it will sell, and be less likely to impose limits at the beginning), or at the end. There are members on all forums who are reselling, not just here, but anytime single members miss out because of folks that are trying to order 50 and 100 copies at a time....well, naturally that is aggravating.

Even if you're right, a screengrab won't help you if Zavvi should decide to cancel. When these steels are gone, they're gone. If I were you I'd be careful ordering too many copies at the same time. At least break them up into separate orders.

Man, I wish I didn't miss this one. That said, it's the first steel in months, so in a way it's good to see there's still a demand for steels like this.

You're quite right, of course, as is Digitalbabe - right hand never knowing what the left is doing etc.

Actually, I never ever buy to scalp - it might sound old fashioned but it's neither fair nor ethical - and I believe in both.

Truth told, I had my copy stolen from my basket in the nanosecond it takes to go from basket to checkout - deleted - Poof, like magic!

Still, I won't cry - there's bound to be another in Germany or Scandinavia, whatever . . .
