I'm glad I don't like any of the avenger movies seems a very expensive steelbook coolection. The only one I care about is Iron Man. I never liked the comics or movies of any of the others especially Thor. And to a barely lesser extent Hulk. There just a bit boring to me. And the Thor movie was a total rip off of the 1st power rangers movie.

Basic synopsis of both films:
"Thor"
Possible movie spoiler!
Thor get's banished to Earth and loses his powers for intentionally going to fight the Frost Giants. Get's his powers back after he changes as a person, due to his brief mortality. Get's back to Asgard. Beats the sh*t out of Loki, destroy's the Bifrost so that Loki can't use it to destroy the Frost Giants, Loki falls through space to Earth, but then get's picked up be Thanos and the Chitauri.

"Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers: The Movie"
Kids waste money skydiving out of a plane. Big pink Kinder Surprise Egg found by construction workers. Ivan Ooze get's released from the Egg, and goes to kill the guy in the glass tube at the Power Rangers base. Ooze wrecks the place. The kids lose their powers. Tube Guy dying. Kids get sent to another planet where a useless stripper tells them to go on a quest for new powers. Kids get new powers. Sent back to Earth. And then use cr*p CGI robots to fight other cr*p CGI robots. Ooze goes into one of the robots. They fight in space. Ooze loses by getting hit in the junk by the good cr*p CGI robot and thrown into the path of a cr*p CGI asteroid.

Sounds like two completely different films to me.
So, how exactly was a great film (Thor) a "ripoff" of a cr*p film (Power Rangers)? :hilarious:

Yeah, funny that but give the guy a break...He's entitled to his opinions

Thanks for that. But i'll continue to go by my stance as I see it.
They both lose there powers. Instead of meeting teenagers and geting help like thor the rangers are teenagers who meet a god like woman to get help.
They both fight statue esque creatures for no real reason before going to regain there powers.
The methods universal transportation are extremely similar. The weapons Thor and his friends whom fight with him use are similar. The overseer of the gate and Zordon serious does nobody see that similarity? They sound the same and more or less serve the same purpose. The true different elements I feel like are that they are designed for different audiences but the underlying plot of losing/regaining powers, the journey to get there, and oh yes btw I always thought even when I was little having read Thor before power rangers(as a show even existed) were incredibly similar as well because power rangers just continued to use the same formula but added robots which was a mistake on there part of not expanding the universe. But the similarites still seem obvious to me even now.

But I even again watching them both now back to back I still don't think I would rebut my statement. However looking at it many, many, many more movies follow this same plot idk just power rangers sticks out more in my head based on subject matter I think. (Gods, ancient evil, teenagers and young adults with attitude, cheesy costumes(for both films imo), lame weapons and look how they move(for both films imo).

Let's just chalk it up to coincidence. Thor was introduced into the Marvel universe many years before the Power Rangers were even an inkling of an idea. Keep the thread on topic please. This is the BF Thor thread not the Power Rangers comparison to Thor thread.

^^ Green - Why don't you create a thread in the chat section and continue there? Thread is derailed now with the number of posts IMO

Okay now, calling the Thor 1 slipcover WEA is definitely stretching things. Unless it's changed since they first showed it, then it's exactly like the Best Buy slipcover except for the added Chinese lettering.

I really want this, but we've got to buy 3 different versions of each series to get everything? Dammmmn. (Good thing I was just promoted at work. :D)
