I'm not thrilled by the magnet, because the image is smaller is doesn't look right on the steelbook. I'm not a Marvel fanboy either (especially since Disney sunk their teeth into them) but I think this steelbook is decent enough and worth the money. I think it's better than this one...

The finsh is much better on the original Zavvi version and colour is much more vivid and not washed out so that will be a tough argument personally despite the floating heads.

The back is the only thing that lets the original Zavvi release down IMO

I thought the new one would be better but I was wrong

I'm glad I passed. I have the HMV and first Zavvi version which I glossed myself. I imagine in the new year we will see all of this Marvel wave in a sale of some kind, may pick it up then, depending on price, no more than £9.99.

The lenti is a total joke (popped it on the inside instead), but the I really like the actual steelbook. I've owned all 3 UK Thors (still have the Zavvi 2D), and my first impression is that this is my favourite. The metallic effect on the hammer, the rain, and armour, is really eye-catching.

I think the steelbook itself looks great. The embossed Thor looks really nice. It does make you wonder if these lenticular magnets were a bit of an after thought in the design process.

Not my Video

He Likes it :rofl: judging by his comments

To me it don't look as bad as some have made out from what I have seen but I will give my own opinion when I get delivery

With these Steelbooks unsealed is what counts the lenti is not what I judge by and to be honest none of us expected Zavvi to have a wow lenti on any of these anyway
In my opinion these Steelbooks would have been better without the Lenticular

Hopefully I will have delivery on Monday and I will take photos showing all of the Steelbook and also comparison photos of Zavvi 2013 and Blufans

Judging a release by photos showing it sealed is in my opinion is a waste of time it's not showing a steelbook at all
A lot of Steelbooks can look poor until you unseal them

The comparison photos I will post will show of course that the Blufans Steelbook wins by a huge margin but this Zavvi Steelbook is not as bad as some are saying

In an attempt to make myself feel better I have to remind myself that "it's only a steelbook, it's only a steelbook, it's only a steelbook . . . " but still I feel bad about this one in particular and cheated . . .
As very astutely mentioned above by @lights the "afterthought" lenti on this one (and "GotG' . . . so far) adds nothing to the steelbook and ruins the package for me rather than embellishing it because of the cockeyed scaling/bad design.

Not sure why he has said the rain moves. It's only the title and the marvel sign that are 3D and the rain moves with the actual image. Not seperately so maybe he meant that but it moves with Thor with the rain not changing apart from going left to right lol

My main problem is it is a really dark image that's washed out and thors hair seems transparent to the back ground and both the same colour but when I go to take a photo you can see his hair clearer.
That's what annoys me and I don't want to have to look at a Steelbook through a camera phone

Now bare in mind that for some reason this is coming out a bit brighter when I take a photo (standard iPhone camera) but this is what I mean and to the naked eye it blends in too much to the background making it harder to see the top of his head and hair

Also his face is brighter and more defined in the photo than what I can actually see.

It's a shame becuase I quite like the art they chose for this one but the finish and contrast makes it really hard to look at the image properly.
Also his armour and arm are more black and defined through the camera than they are on the actual steel

In close up looks like it's been attacked with a white ink gel pen instead of raining cats and dogs.

An umbrella over the head instead of a hammer might have worked better to keep off the rain - oh wait, that's a different type of Avenger . . .
