I got mine with a spineslash and scrathes on the front. I asked for a replacement even though it says sold out. The answer i got was a 50% refund but i told them again that i wanted a replacement if possible. Guess what? :

I thought that it was a given zavvi takes time for cancelled and returned orders to return to stock. I'd rather have something showing as sold out and be able to get a replacement than be told we'll issue a refund.

Yes. There is always a reserve stock - they all do that not just zavvi to cover all contingencies.

Indeed; makes business sense to do that, but with limited print runs and depending on the number of replacements, might not always be possible

Oh agreed. I doubt the very short 500 and 1,000 runs have very much of a reserve.But the reserve is, of course, often the reason we see titles return to stock very late in the day - that, and undamaged returns.
