i really want this steelbook but the prices are just to much :tear:

i had the same problem as e bay prices can be way too expensive, my advice is be patient and keep checking the sale/trade threads on the forum, i got a copy from a fellow Ninja for 35.00 gbp, was open but in minty mint condition :D

This was our member voted 'Steelbook of the year' for 2012 at HDN. For the sake of collectibility and for reasons having nothing to do with appreciation in price, for many Steelbook fans, I hope this is not reprinted...at least not with the same art.

Since Thor 2 will be released I can see the studio trying to capitalize by releasing another 'Thor'. Limited prints tend to appreciate in value, both monetarily and simply the value each owner places of having a unique item in his/her collection. Let them release another, as that cannot be stopped in all cases. Just not with the same art, please-actions like that just cause more aggravation and accusations of studios trying to take advantage of people(though they are out to make money as a business). A completely new cover and finish should be the alternative. The 1st Thor was really beautiful, lets hope it continues to be the only one, to maintain its uniqueness.

I sold my sealed play.com Iron Man 2 recently since I expect either a reprint or a new UK steel of the all the original Marvel movies to be made. There's just too much money there for it not to happen. I really hope they don't make straight up reprints but it wouldn't surprise me.

I hope your right i hope they do re print it! but honestly i don`t see it ever happening.

I personally like the idea of re-prints. But then that's me (I do have an original mint HMV Thor btw). I just like the look of steels and think everyone should be able to enjoy them. I can understand other people disagreeing but I just have no interest in how much they're worth as I'll never pay more than retail for any of them.

I also hope they dont reprint the same as hmv exclusive.. i can see them re releasing thor when the new film comes out though.... but the studios should make a brand new design for it (its win win for them) the people that want thor on steel get it and the people with the original steel will prob also get it (twice the amount off sales);)

they could release the same steelbook with no embossed title but a fancy lenticular magnet!

The Leader has spoken

Like I've said before Comic-Books get 2nd, 3rd, 4th printings etc with different variant
covers so why not steelbooks. The 1st printings will always be more valuable than the
rest so those who care about the monetary value of their steelbooks should'nt care and
they can make it so the 1st printings are rare from the jump if they just structure it well.

1st Printing 2000 copies
2nd Printing 5000 copies
3rd Printing 7500 copies
4th Printing who cares...

What if the first print is 2000 copies, the second 5000 but the third only 500?!?!?

It'd just piss people off, ha; it only makes sense if the earlier runs are the more
difficult to get hold of unless the 3rd Printing was like an anniversary special or
something.

That said the first printing would still be the most desired. I know with comics
I only buy 1st printings as a collector, the casual reader doesnt care what the
printing is though and I think that's what would happen with steelbooks...

I'm really looking to get hold of a copy of this sealed or not as long as it's mint. The search continues :)

took me 9 month to get a copy at a good price, try and source 1 on hdn rather than e-bay, a sale from a hdn member will g/tee you a mint copy unless stated otherwise plus you won,t pay way over the odds.. happy hunting!!!!:D
