NO PLEASE!!! Not Again.....

I'M SO TIRED AND SICK OF RE-RELEASES!

Can't we make these greedy and desperate to make money retailers to stop doing re re-releases? Of course we CAN by simply not buying and sending out a message that true steelbook collectors detest re-releases in every way.

This changes the meaning of the whole steelbook collection hobby which means a Blu-Ray in a unique and exclusive steelbook packaging and not a new steelbook packaging every six months for the same movie just because the last one was a big time hit.

TBH I still don't have any version of the famous and rare Original Thor but I would never buy this even though it is very well within my means and the same goes for the new CA Zavvi Exclusive.

Ordered. Rerelease, lazy or not, it shall fill the gap in my Avengers steels.

And hey, should get us all in the mood for Thor 2, right?

You're sick of rereleases even for films you don't have?

It's their business to make money. It keeps the economy going, people in work, taxes to run the country etc. etc.

Who are 'true steelbook collectors'? Ones who always buy the first release (of which you're not one)? Ones who buy every release? Ones who don't open them?

These same companies will keep on rereleasing movies for as long as they sell. Blame the consumer.

Don't buy it then. You didn't buy the first one either, so what's your point? Besides, it'll still be the rarer of the two as it's OOP. Now there's an alternative.

not sure if I want this or CA yet...will hold out a while. Have the amaray of both and not sure if it is worth double dipping for a single disc and when it is no the original elease.

Ordered only 1 Thor and 1 Capt Am because I already know I'm gonna cancel as soon as a code becomes available.

Now that we know what Zavvi does with the cancelled orders, I am going to be much more careful when placing orders so that I won't need to make any changes. Every cancellation is more $$ for Zavvi.

How is it more money for zavvi regarding cancellations?

It is more money for Zavvi because they stuck of bunch of cancelled Aladdin steelbooks uo for sale on their Ebay Outlet Store for £23.99 when they were initially listed on their site for £16.99.....(although they do have the extra costs of Ebay fees to pay!!).

Because Zavvi puts the cancellation stock on Ebay for a higher price (even after Ebay fees, they are making a killing). So far they have sold over 500 Aladdins on their Ebay outlet (the link at the top of the Aalddin OP).

If tons of people placing these orders for Thor and Capt America cancel because of a new discount code, then Zavvi will have a boatload on their outlet store.

And, consequently for Zavvi, not having a fresh code to use on these, there is no way on earth they are going to sell out quickly. And if they do "sell out" quickly, it will be a fake sell out, with about half being cancellations.

you said it yourself, it wont sell out quickly.. the demand wont be high enough to justify a significant price increase.. will be 15-18GBP on outlet like commando or town.. nobody would buy this for 23,99+3,99shipping

i ordered both this and CA, I like them.
not as sweet as the hmv originals, but they will make nice accompanyments.
if they some kind of embossing/debossing they will turn out fine.
don't think they will sell out though, they wont be as desirable as the hmv ones - these will always be the poor cousins, but its a nice chance for anyone who missed the originals, or 'double dippers' like myself to have these 2 films in steelbook form.

Looking at the image again, it would be a nice change if this was a toned down gloss finish with just the characters in super high gloss (like hansel steel) but with T H O R title debossed.

Anyone agree?

Ordered by the way. Had to. Avengers fan. :)
