Thats the only one that warrants a re-release in my opinion since they havent given it the proper treatment yet to match the other avengers steelbooks. (Normal vertical design and embossed).

OT:Just got another original Thor and now this one looks like childs play even more lol. This seriously needs a design rework if it intends to to compete with the other one. If not, its doing a great job.

Totally agree :scat:

Over a week since anyone has mentioned the Thor re-release. That surprises me even if there isn't so much love for the new artwork

The original doesn't have much to worry about imo

I canceled both this and Captain America and picked up the triple play amarays for $13 in the meantime. The rear artwork was too big of an influence for me to turn a blind eye.

Cancelling seems to be the current trend on some of these exclusives. Was also surprised this hadn't sold out yet and can only assume it's because the print run is higher than normal :dunno:

Psychology says that if you give a human being long enough to "think about" something, they will change their mind. Some of the release dates are too far away, we all just jump onboard. Once we've had the opportunity to think about everything on offer (or lack of what's on offer...!) we seem to be more keen to cancel. For me on this one, it's just the rear artwork..it's poor and makes them look too much like budget releases.

Yep, I hear you. It's a shame as these could have been pretty special

i would not judge the cover art before i've seen in-hand pictures.
and it seems most people just order and cancel their steelbooks by some trends they feel and (anti-)hypes going on, but it makes much more sense to keep the pre-orders, and decide what to do shortly before the estimated dispatch. you will avoid frustration if it sells out eventually and you change your mind again afterwards.

i have 2 on pre-order of these "thor" steels, i actually know that i personally won't need any, but what if i become a crazy addicted marvel fan within the next 6 months and this sells out soon!? you never know..., better cancel last-minute. it's a win-win in my opinion.

I actually like the Steelbook and if it wasn't for me owning the original I would of purchased this. The floating heads don't bother me and the back has a comic strip feel to it.

With the unexpected amount of embossing on The Jungle Book, we could easily find that with the same treatment, this cover would be dramatically improved. Embossed title and Thor himself would be great. If they could get rid of those floating heads, it would be even better.

The embossing on Thor and CA is exactly what I was thinking when I saw the Junglebook. I REALLY hope this is true. :oohyeah:
