Was going to wait on this one but after seeing the thread explode and seeing you all excited I thought what the heck and put a few copies in. Time will tell if this turns out being a 3D + 2D Zavvi exclusive (have they ever done 3D+2D in a release before?)... If this release turns into another IM3 I'll most likely cancel all and go with an Asian variant with a slip!

Don't see this extremely early pre-order being very successful. Having a pre-order this early is just silly. I know that in some instances a pre-order can help with knowing how many of an item to make but I don't see this working with steelbooks, especially with popular films like this.

1. There will be a false figure because many will pre-order but cancel nearer the time, or as more details come out of other editions, etc.
2. It could mean a massive print run and after cancelled orders Zavvi will be left with loads of excess stock (Iron Man 3, Little Mermaid, etc).

Yeah, this is the first time I have pre-ordered a steelbook BEFORE the movie was even released in theaters - let alone before I saw it. But then again, it's THOR - I'm gonna need it.
