Unfortunately Play blew this one.A random picture of Tom Cruise walking and the vertical title that's makes you brake your neck to read .
This had so much potential .

This artwork is very disappointing IMO. I would have preferred something similar to the place holder artwork or steelbookonly's helmet art with the black background. Big fail!

I actually quite like this, it's different and that's what makes it appealing! I would rather have a bit of a dodgy cover art than no steelbook at all, so I will take the rough with the smooth.

The only approved artwork for Top Gun is what you've all seen countless times. Tom Cruise has a 6 month lead time on artwork ; so making this happen with the unique artwork says a whole lot about Play; this was not an easy task! In that regard, them continuing to try and bring us unique steels is nothing but a success in my mind.

I understand everyone has opinions and of course your going to like/love some and dislike/hate others. But I think so long as we steelbook collectors can rest knowing there is a retailer "taking the fight" to the studios for unique artwork then we shouldn't bash them so hard for their efforts. ;)

The vertical title is something that looks odd the longer you look at it ... don't let it play tricks on your mind. :p In all seriousness tho, I really like how they made a brushed looked across the art on the steel inside and out!

Looks good but nothing on the cover, aside from the title obviously, relates to the actual movie. Change the helmet to Mavericks helmet and it would be awesome. Maybe even put a mig-28, which don't actually exist, in the visor as a reflection. That could get a bit busy though
