Only received my copy today so have not had time to try it yet! Noticed on (amazon.de) the notice about problems with some customers discs and that they have stopped selling it for the moment!!
The people reporting problems all seem to have (Panasonic players). As I have an Oppo 95 maybe I will be ok. Have to try it later.
Have sent (amazon.de) an email anyway to find out what they are going to do about the faulty discs, and if mine is also faulty I want a replacement!!!

Even so this happened before with Cabin In The Woods, and you would think that they would pick up on these faulty transfers before they dispatch them!

:D

Received my copy this morning. Going to watch in a mo to see if there are any audio issues - hopefully not as I never saw this at the cinema and would like to enjoy it first time round! Watching on my pc though, have a panasonic blu ray player so will see later if there are issues on that.

Just had an email back from amazon and they informed me that there is a know problem with the sound encode on the discs and they are dealing with it and will get back to me in a few days to advise me on what they are going to do regarding the faulty discs.

I think that they will most probably just send out a new disc or maybe even the Steelbook including the new disc!

Amazon are very reliable at dealing with any problems, it's basically Sony to blame for the faulty discs!!

Translated to English using Google:

The sound problem of Total Recall' remake Blu-ray from Sony Pictures has become a world-known problem (we include them on our Facebook site reports), and focuses not only on the German disc. What exactly did the dropouts (both cut versions and both Dolby True HD soundtracks available) triggers is not yet been confirmed by officials and they do not know yet whether future firmware update will fix this problem.

The most notorious audio dropouts occur in any case only with certain device configurations of Blu-ray players and amplifiers, which are, ironically, many Sony devices affected. We can confirm myself that the problem can be circumvented by rearranging the audio output of the player from Bitstream to Linear PCM and the decoding of HD sound the amplifier leaves. We will continue to follow events!

Might watch and return this one then (unless the film is amazing and makes me want to keep it). Seems to me that the Dolby encode is not quite right somewhere as most players are struggling to decode it to PCM. No way they can justify not replacing the disc as this is clearly a fault.

I received my copy yesterday and sent amazon an email last night about the disc issues and could not believe it as just now i received a complete refund for the whole Steelbook as a good will gesture. EEK! Nice early Christmas present.

I received mine today to keep sealed in my collection, but unfortunately, the sealing is pretty badly ripped on the front :(...

I've never had this happen to me before with Amazon.de....*shrug*.

Im getting the same audio dropout problems with the HMV exclusive steelbook, audio dropout constantly throughout the film on my Cambridge Audio 650BD & Yamaha V671 amp, totally unwatchable.

Changing the blu-ray player to LCPM did reslove it but it should not be needed.

Now I need to decide what to do with Finding Nemo & Brave that are both Dolby TrueHD and also suffer from the audio dropout problems

I send an e-mail to the Sony contact adress on the amazon.de website.
Todat I received a new blu-ray disc from Sony. The disc had the same number written on it (GE-83293-BD) but now it ends with V2. So I think there are replacement discs without the audio issue.
I do not have the time today to view the disc, but I will this week and let all of you know if I still had audio drop-outs.
