Hunger Games District 12 is a circle with the logo
The circle is embossed in fact 2 circles are and in the circle area the embossing is done
Embossing area can be Square/Circle/Rectangular Frame
With this steelbook a circle frame is used if you notice the title is not embossed

Embossing is raised area on a steelbook and it needs a frame
When the Title is embossed you will have frame around the edges of the steelbook or centered
A border it can be centered or a border that is edge of the steelbook depending on the location and type of embossing

Frame has to be there it will depend on what style of frame on what's been embossed Square/Circle/Rectangular Frame

I see, so it can be done... kind of. Just need to be creative and hope the artwork allows this. I suppose the easy option is to emboss the frame (ignoring the artwork!) and emboss the title and/or boots & eyes

It does look like that is embossed without a border. I don't think manufacturers will want to do this though as it exposes the embossed section of the steelbook to damage and will rub against whatever it is placed next to. Anyway back to the steelbook!

Were people expecting a white steelbook for this?

Zavvi's images are deceiving, as I am sure many people expected to receive a white SteelBook. We experienced something similar with the Warner Bros Premium Collection in late 2012, and a few other titles throughout 2013. I really do think that Zavvi should have added a note stating that the final product would be silver and not white as depicted

With the artwork on this range, I was hoping these would be my favourite, but heres the comparison shot with my STILL favourite "steel" of Toy Story 2.

In some cases, perhaps. But I think the Zavvi cover is very simple too.

1. Remove the border and unnecessary embossing.
2. Give it a nice gloss luster finish.

...and you've got yourself a nice steelbook that people would be praising.

3. bonus... make it WHITE like the freakin picture shows (advertisement)...

...and it would have been winner winner chicken dinner.

#1, #2, and #3. All very simple things. Nothing takes a science or engineering degree to understand these things.

I have a soft spot for Toy Story. This is a good quality Steelbook IMO. Would have been perfect if it was white.

got it in the states yesterday. Although white would have been preferable, it doesn't look that bad in hand.

hopefully toy story and toy story 3 arrive today to complete the set.
