Don't know about that, not everbody needs 3D. Besides with 3D the price would've been higher I think.

Jut got a order despatched mail btw :)
since UP 3D,monsters inc 3D and cars 3D are a quid extra then these and include 3d how much more do you think this would cost lol? The fact that those all include 3D just shows how overpriced these are.

You're right I didn't see that! EEK!
But I'm still not totally convinced that it would have stayed sold out if it had 3D... :p

It is more about 3D penetrating more homes now that steelbooks in essence need to be ultimate editions i.e. include all the discs. Many have mocked 3D as a gimmick. But as evidenced with IM3, many deserted the non 3D releases such as the UK release in favor of editions that included 3D. The same happened with Monsters University. 3D/2D editions fare much better than 2D editions. If you are going to charge a premium, might as well have premium content.

Cancelled this about a week ago. Happy enough with the FS series I have.

Meh, it'll be £9.99 on Tuesday...

;)

You wish
That wont happen not with Pixar release

They made a mistake with Disney 2 releases
Jungle Book and Little Mermaid
Print run of 10,000

They learnt from that mistake
4000-5000 Max for Disney/Pixar Release from now on
Exception though but I don't have any proof or information is about Frozen
I suspect this will be decided on how it sells

Look at Planes 4000 print rum
This has sold from what we know not that many and it has not dropped a lot in price (I myself wont buy planes until its £5.00 looks like I will be kept waiting)

They know The Pixar Toy Story Steelbooks will sell out ,they wont be as quick as the other Disney Classics that have been 4000-5000 print run

I have all 1,2,3 Toy Story Steelbooks on there way to me

Its lot easier to sell 4,000 or 5,000 print run than 10,000

Note if they do drop to £9.99 then yes I will be annoyed but that's not going to happen unless in a few months sales are bad and if it does happen good luck for anyone who get them at that price
I just cant see it happening soon

since this has sold out once i doubt there is many copies left.

We've seen before some "sold out" but have been back for months, like Little Mermaid.

And I expect this to last a while because there's probably been a lot of cancellations based on a lot of Disney/Pixar announcements since, including what I think is better value £1 more for 3D, which this should have been. Some not liking Toy Story 2 or 3 art, there's been more worry about Disney matte. And some ordered this with Jungle Book at the time for £10 or "Free" and canceling this after.
Plus we've seen a lot of price drops since. So I think more people are willing to chance it.
Usually you see panic buying when steelbooks come back, but it's not the case with this. I think people will want to see how nice it is before spending £20 on this one.

It's my favorite Disney and I really wanted it but I can't justify £20 when I already have it and it's not worth selling mine for how little I would get, and you can buy the trilogy for under £15.

I just can't do it, £20 and no 3D :( it's not like I need the 3D copy but at the same time I just can't justify it out of principle.

It is going to have to be an incomplete Pixar Collection for me.

3D is of no interest to me as I watch all my films in 2D

I have a 3D Plasma TV very good one and I have a few 3D releases
but I have watched the 3D version once only and repeat viewing all have been the 2D
There may be some who love 3D releases but how many of them really only watch in 3D compared to 2D
I bet if there honest its 2D more with repeat viewings

I do agree The price yes on these releases were to high
£14.99 should have been the price and with discount code would have been £13.49
