Do you work in the Hut Warehouse in Warrington
Zavvi mostly use the warehouse in channel islands for steelbooks and other zavvi website items for sale

The Hut website and some other Hut group sectors use the UK warehouse including Zavvi but most of the Zavvi website items for sale are shipped from warehouse in channel islands especially the steelbooks

Zavvi website steelbooks are shipped from Hut warehouse on occasions so it's normal to not see some steelbook releases in the hut warehouse as most are shipped from channel islands


If this had of been shipped from the Hut warehouse it would have been in a Box and be tracked as well but it's lucky dip as to when Zavvi use UK warehouse to ship box sets and the type of packaging that is used.

Sometimes packaging is excellent for box sets but lot of the times it's a jiffy bag
They need to be consistent with packaging for the box sets be it a standard Blu-ray or DVD box set and steelbook box sets as in use good packaging a box with protection inside.

The box was sent from Guernsey, 1st class and arrived 24 hours later...Talk about fast delivery

I know delivery can be very fast sometimes or your wait 4 days or longer depending on your location

I live in Rep of Ireland
I only get next day delivery if sent by courier from the Hut UK warehouse and is usually tracked delivery for free.

When sent from Guernsey it can be 3 days to 14 days or longer but most times its 3-5 days with average been 4 days

You got better chance of a box been used when they ship from the Hut warehouse in the UK for box sets but it's not consistent the packaging can be excellent even over the top packaging as in brilliant protection or a basic jiffy bag it's lucky dip if it's a decent box with protection

When the box set is hard cardboard it's usually fine even in a jiffy bag but if it's soft cardboard the risk of damage is high when sent in a jiffy bag

Problem is Guernsey warehouse rarely use a box most times it's a jiffy bag if they can fit in a jiffy padded packaging they will use a jiffy if it won't fit you got a good chance of a box

The downside of the UK Hut warehouse with single steelbook though is they don't use the white cardboard boxes and it's best it that gets sent from the Guernsey warehouse as packaging for a single steelbook from HUT warehouse can be a jiffy or very basic carboard with little protection

What annoy's me is I often get box sets in brilliant packaging from Hut warehouse but not every time

If Arrow Video release or other film distributor release I know will be soft cardboard box I won't order from Zavvi I use Amazon UK instead
If I know it will be strong cardboard used with a film distributor release box set I will use Zavvi if they are cheaper

Mine arrived in two Jiffys bags. I had a good look at it after reading this thread and to be fair, no damage at all to mine. Must of got lucky.

I'm surpised, with the amount of steels I order my postman must hate me. I'm surprised he didnt Ace Ventura it up the driveway.

I only purchased the first Transformers Film Steelbook
I was hoping it would include the bonus disc as Zavvi do list it as 2 Discs but it's only 1 Disc

Italy release includes the bonus disc as far as I know

I decided on just the first film on it's own as I did not have it as a steelbook or even on Amaray and I already had the other films already as a steelbook

I might end up getting the Italy steelbooks later if they drop in price as all of them listed as 2 discs each

Slipcases are from Universal/Paramount
Zavvi had nothing to do with the production of them

Slightly harder cardboard but not much difference between previous Universal/Paramount steelbook Slipcases releases that was sold by Zoom and Zavvi

They hardly set the world alight, I agree.

But they were still much better designed than what's on offer here.

The first print UK steelbooks of the first two movies are still the best out there for those particular movies IMO. The German ones were horrible aswell.

lol those German versions, who can forget. I just felt 1 and 2 felt like a cheap reprint, 'quick cash'. 3 and 4 were new releases so be similar to the 5th.

The future shop ROTF was a nice glossy version but most didn't like the blue banner and writing on top.
